Alien, Predator, AvP (news)

Personally, I would rather Scott finishes his Prometheus/Covenant/*third movie trilogy instead of making a sequel to Romulus, and have Alvarez continue with the Romulus storyline.

I swear I just read somewhere the Fede Alvarez is working on a Romulus sequel. So this could be something different, the article just said that Ridley Scott was making it because of Romulus, not that it's a sequel to Romulus.

Would be nice to get Romulus 2 and Scott's 3rd prequel.

Pretty sure you're right about that, I remember it as well.

I am very much onboard!!

Nice, doing something different this time.

Aren’t they always the protagonist?
No, but there are exceptions.
At the end of AVP, the Predator allies with Lexi (I think that's her name) to fight given the xenos had the upper hand and they were the last two standing. In AVP-R, the Predator was the clean-up guy, but not the protagonist as he killed indiscriminately. In the third film, the "regular" Predator at the end was going to help Boyce thanks to being freed, but he didn't live long. In the fourth film, we finally had an actual Predator protagonist, secondary to CGI-Predator out to kill everything with extreme prejudice, except the kid... "because." Haven't seen the prequel yet, but pretty sure the Predator is just out for raw sport.

It depends on your preferred definition of the word;
  1. 1.
the leading character or one of the major characters in a play, film, novel, etc.
"the novel's main protagonist is an American intelligence officer"

  2. 2.
an advocate or champion of a particular cause or idea.
"he's a strenuous protagonist of the new agricultural policy"

I think for a lot of people, combined with the word antagonist, it means the hero/good guy. Yes, in the sense of the first definition Predator/Yautja has always been a protagonist. And has only sometimes been the good guy. In the AvP movies, they fight the xenomorphs so we kinda see them as the heroes.
So it'll be curious to see what will happen in this new movie and if Predator will actually be a hero or if it is is simply a story from the perspective of Predator.

This could be a really interesting approach, assuming he means the movie is told from the Predator's point of view.
I didn't go to the link so I don't know if it mentions it there, but I think the story I read about this also said that Dakota Fanning is actually going to be playing multiple characters.

Including the Predator?
