    Aliens question:
Do you think, when Ripley got back to the Sulaco at the end of the movie, that she did in fact "Nuke the site from Orbit" Maybe not Hadley's Hope, since it was a smoking crater, but the original Juggernaut ship from Alien??
I ask, because the original ship seems to be a good distance from the colony, and even if it was nuked, i doubt the ship would have been in its blast radius.
So, the question, would Ripley have nuked the original ship.. Just to make sure?

If they had enough warheads, sure. I would have, if put in a similar situation.

She couldn't have, she would need access codes to launch something like nukes, Bishop was none combat version, so he wouldn't have it either, and everyone else was dead or incapacitated.

Always thought the Chyenne going in sideways broke the teraformer machine.

Was just thinking, 40 MT 30km is what Bishop said latter, so considerbly smaller than Nebraska.. Maybe Rhode Island :)
And from how long Newts parents to drive to the Jugernaunt and with the dialog saying "Past the Illiyum Range" and if it was within 30 Km of the colony, they would have found it in the 20 years they were there. Just to me seems the ship was quite a way aways from the blast. But if the Novelization says it got nuked, then so be it. :)

Or a re-creation of them—-David’s version is called Praetomorph:

Remember, the Juggernaut that Kane explored in ALIEN already had eggs—not vases in it, right? So it wasn’t just that one “Deacon,” unless it morphed into a Queen.

The Engineers may even have used humans.

The Praetomorph seemed to have a flatter face…but that might have been an injury in trying to burst into the cockpit.

    The xenomorph’s true name

There is also the implication of the 'mural' in Prometheus.

That’s likely the deacon…maybe the simplest form. For cross-over purposes….there may be a secret to the ooze…SPECIES and Venom symbiotes maybe?

In AvP, the Weyland we see there could be the father of the one we see in Prometheus.

Scooby Doo gang goes to a planet and finds aliens.. How original..

Prey was good so I do have some hope.. But can't we do colonial marines instead of a motly crew of morons?

    Build a universe!!

I was going to say, how hard is it to make a good Alien movie, then remembered there hasn't been one since 1986.

If they can't come up with any ideas why not just adapt "Isolation"; it won't even need that big a budget as far as SF movies go.

The problem with marines is that they can kick Xenomorph arse. The only reason they got their butts kicked in Aliens was because they lost much of their gear and support. If they hadn't lost the APC and the dropship, if they hadn't lost much of their ammunition, if Gorman hadn't been so inexperienced, if Burke hadn't been the enemy within, then I think they'd have cleaned house.

Frankly the idea of a bunch of teenagers facing off against aliens on some far flung world sounds great, and plays into the Alien movies as, effectively, slasher films. Sure, it's great to think of Alien as a haunted house movie in space but really it's a slasher. An unstoppable monster stalks and murders a group of people one by one, oh and there's even a fucking final girl!

Aliens vs a motley crew of space truckers/grunts/prisoners/space pirates? is how the franchise has worked best. One of many reasons I hated Prometheus and Covenant was because the characters should have been way smarter than they were, they were scientists and explorers and it's harder to buy into them making dumb mistakes than it is with the likes of Brett or Parker or Hudson.

Don't get me wrong, the movie may be shit, but I'm not going to write it off purely based on the ages of those being cast.
