It's kind of funny that at Nimoy's age he probably had to put up with extra time in the makeup chair to "age" him further.

why do you say that? aren't Vulcans supposed to have very long lifespans? We saw Sarek in TNG. I mean, this Spock is supposed to be from the 24th Century i thought, and he didn't look that old in TNG. i wouldn't imagine that spock would age that much between TNG and "now" to nearly catch up to his father, but i guess we don't know exactly when in the 24th C spock is coming from. Probably a while past NEM so that Abram's future can believably look at little different

Sarek: born 2165, died 2368 (around the age of 203)
Spock: born 2232 (when Sarek was 67ish)

so if spock were to live as long as Sarek, he'd die around 2435ish, which is 35 years into the 25th Century

I agree with this assessment.
Nimoy was deliberately held out of the trailer "for the commoners" and was saved for use in this trailer "for the fans".

I actually teared up. I got emotionally choked up just from seeing Spock for 3-4 seconds.
