For one Bana's 'The wait is over' feels completely out of place - it doesn't fit at all -

Yes, I think he is. I know lots of non fans who thought that this remake was a lame idea, and only when I told them that Nimoy was going to reprise his role as Spock they became slightly interested in this movie.
Star Trek is not as old fashioned to the general audience as most of you think it is!
In short, because Nimoy's presence could send the wrong message to Joe Moviegoer. So, is this a new Star Trek? Or just Star Trek XI? Don't get me wrong, Nimoy's presence for fans is great. It was cool to see that short clip.
