AI / ChatGPT Discussion

I'm viewing an online course on ChatGPT with plenty of tips and tricks, from writing a résumé, asking for a raise, summarizing a report, blog authoring, analyzing writing styles, coding, and even a demo of AI art DALL-E.

This is a very clever app, but not without flaws. I wrote a logic puzzle, and Chat GPT didn't get it right the first few times. I tried rewriting the puzzle, and it finally figured out the correct answers.
I wrote:
Can you solve this logic puzzle: There are four women (Jane, Wendy, Sarah, and Jenny) who work together in the finance department. They all speak English, but most of them speak at least one foreign language One of them speaks English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. One woman wears a red scarf. One woman wears blue jeans. One woman wears a purple dress. One woman wears a pink shirt.

CLUES: The lady with the red scarf speaks only English, and she talks to Sarah, who doesn't have blue jeans. The lady in the pink shirt talks in English and Mandarin to Wendy. Jane talks to Wendy in both English and Cantonese. Jenny chats in English with the lady who can speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

Identify each woman, what languages she speaks, and what she's wearing.

And this is the AI's response:

Based on the clues given, we can determine the following:

  • The lady with the red scarf speaks only English, and she talks to Sarah, who doesn't have blue jeans. Therefore, Sarah doesn't wear a red scarf.
  • The lady in the pink shirt talks in English and Mandarin to Wendy. Therefore, Wendy is the one who speaks English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
  • Jane talks to Wendy in both English and Cantonese. Therefore, Jane is not the one who speaks all three languages.
  • Jenny chats in English with the lady who can speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Therefore, Jenny is not the one who speaks all three languages.
Using process of elimination, we can determine that:

  • Wendy speaks English, Mandarin, and Cantonese and wears blue jeans.
  • The lady with the red scarf (Jenny) speaks only English.
  • Jane speaks Cantonese and English and wears a purple dress.
  • Sarah wears a pink shirt and speaks English and Mandarin.
Therefore:

  • Wendy wears blue jeans and speaks English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
  • Jenny wears the red scarf and speaks only English.
  • Jane wears a purple dress and speaks Cantonese and English.
  • Sarah wears a pink shirt and speaks English and Mandarin.

It's amazing how Chat GPT can help you write a nonfiction book, a fiction novel, or even an illustrated children's book. Well, the illustrations can be done by an AI art generator like Night Café. The key is writing the right prompt. "Create an outline for a children's book about a small kitty that goes wondering in the forest."

I've also tried Bing Chat powered by Chat GPT. The answers are more enhanced due in part to the search engine's functionality to look for current information and provide links. The replies are too concise, even with Creative mode.

What I do like is the Bing Image Creator, which is powered by Dall-E, also an Open AI application.

Prompt: Ok all ants in the ant colony are talking English and could you make up their conversations with each other concerning the truth about existence that leads to nihilism and all the ants breaking down the society and social structures that are traditional for them till they all go their own ways.. disband and dying alone and feeling sad and lonely.. in despair ? Make the written conversation follow Fred and Barney Antworker.

Response: Sure, here's a fictional conversation between Fred and Barney Antworker about the truth of existence and their eventual disillusionment with the ant colony's social structures:

Fred: "Barney, have you ever wondered what the point of all this is?"

Barney: "What do you mean, Fred?"

Fred: "I mean, all this work we do, collecting food, tending to the queen. What does it all add up to?"

Barney: "Well, it's how we survive. We work hard so that the colony can thrive."

Fred: "But what's the point of surviving? What's the point of it all?"

Barney: "I don't know, Fred. I never really thought about it. We just do what we do, and that's enough for me."

Fred: "But it's not enough for me. I can't shake this feeling that there's something missing, that there's no purpose to our existence."

Barney: "That's a pretty heavy thought, Fred. I don't know if I can handle thinking about that."

Fred: "I can't help it, Barney. I feel like we're all just cogs in a machine, working tirelessly with no end goal in sight. It's all so meaningless."

As Fred and Barney continue to contemplate the meaninglessness of their existence, their feelings of nihilism begin to affect their behavior within the colony. They become less motivated to work and interact with their fellow ants, withdrawing into themselves and losing interest in the traditional social structures of the colony.

Fred: "I'm done with this, Barney. I can't keep pretending that everything is okay when it's not. I'm going to leave the colony and strike out on my own."

Barney: "What? You can't just leave, Fred. We need each other to survive."

Fred: "But what's the point of survival if there's no meaning to it all? I need to find my own way, even if it means going it alone."

As Fred sets off on his own, more and more ants begin to follow his lead. The once-bustling colony begins to disband, with each ant going their own way in search of meaning and purpose. In the end, they are all left alone, feeling sad and lonely in the face of the meaningless existence they have come to understand.

Through the conversation between Fred and Barney, we can see how the realization of the meaningless of existence can lead to disillusionment and ultimately, the breakdown of social structures and the disbanding of communities. The ants' journey also highlights the difficulty of grappling with existential questions in the face of societal pressure to conform to traditional norms and values.

I wonder when we'll be able to feed it comics. Been thinking it would be cool to have an AI rewrite Star Trek: Countdown to match up with canon as presented by Star Trek: Picard.

What makes their image creator good?

^For one thing, it's free to use with a Microsoft account and Edge.

The rendering is better, and the artistic styles are a bit more flexible than Night Café. For instance, if you choose Fantasy or Epic preset mode in NC, the outputs are more landscape- or theme-focused. So even if I typed in "Jensen Ackles," NC would generate images of mountains or Thomas Kinkade-style villages.

However, NC creates more accurate portraits of certain celebrities, at least the better known ones as Henry Cavill (see my avatar), Daniel Radcliffe, etc., compared to Bing/Dall-E.

Thanks to you, @Gingerbread Demon, I now have thousands of digital images. :)

I will try it, but I'm used to using Nightcafe at the moment I think I posted these before but these are Marilyn Monroe as Borg Queen done in NC

Cool. I did several versions of Margot Robbie as a sorcesses, warrior, princess, cyborg with NC.

I've observed that certain text prompts are rejected to prevent adult/NSFW results. But I have my methods.

I noticed that too, it rejected attempts at making Marilyn a sexy spy for example, that word wasn't allowed. I tried it with different names but for me it seemed to reject the word spy.

There are other words too but I don't mind that I can understand why they would want to block certain things.

One thing I noticed too with AI art generators is that if you put too many variables or multiple quantities, you sometimes get fused results. This is true for both Bing/Dall-E and Nightcafe. Let's say, if you prompted it for "Zoo animals having fun at the beach," you would get good image quality, but not without flaws. For example, I have gotten what looks like a hybrid between an elephant and a hippo with big ears but no trunk, or a creature with an elongated neck and zebra stripes. A Zeb-raffe? :wtf: And some experts are so worried AI is going to take over the planet someday.

IKR we'll get confused hybrids

Has anyone tried Google Bard yet? It's available by invitation only, so I signed up for it last week. It's almost as good and comprehensive as Chat GPT. What's better is, like Bing Chat, you can get current information, so you're not limited to data from 2021.
