AI / ChatGPT Discussion

There are huge implications. What happens when our AI get to the level of things like the AI in the movie "Her" where they can form bonds with people and complex relationships?

Will people dump personal relationships for one with an AI?

Create a story AI about using drugs till almost dying, but with Bill.

_______________
Once upon a time, there was a man named Bill. He had always been curious about drugs and had dabbled in them in the past, but he never thought it would lead to anything serious. However, as he got older, his curiosity turned into addiction.

Bill's drug use started to spiral out of control. He would do anything to get his hands on drugs, even if it meant stealing from his loved ones. He stopped going to work and stopped caring about his appearance. His friends and family started to distance themselves from him, and he found himself all alone.

Bill's addiction soon consumed his entire life. He was using drugs every day and was barely able to function. He knew that he needed help, but he couldn't bring himself to ask for it.

One day, Bill's drug use reached a dangerous level. He had taken a particularly strong batch of drugs and his heart stopped. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was put into a medically induced coma.

Bill's family was called to the hospital and were told that he may not survive. They were devastated and felt guilty for not recognizing the severity of his addiction sooner.

But, despite the odds, Bill pulled through. He woke up from the coma and realized that he had almost lost his life. He knew that he needed to make a change and decided to enter rehab.

It was a difficult road to recovery, but Bill was determined. He worked hard to overcome his addiction and with the help of therapy, he was able to understand the root causes of his addiction. He reconnected with his family and friends and got his life back on track.

Bill learned that addiction is a disease and it can happen to anyone. He also learned the importance of asking for help and the power of support from loved ones. He never forgot the lessons he learned and made sure to never let himself fall into the trap of addiction again.

Prompt: Write a perfect sonnet for the Ganymede gas clouds.

Oh Ganymede, gas clouds that float above,
In Jupiter's realm, with majesty untold,
Thou art a beauty, unrivaled, unloved,
That blends together, colors blue and gold.

Enraptured by thy grace,
I do muse And wonder at the magic that thou art,
A swirl of gas, an otherworldly hues,
That dances in the skies, a work of art.

Thy every movement, every gentle breeze,
Is a symphony of colors and of light,
That fills the sky with beauty that doth please,
And takes our breath away, with its great might.

Oh Ganymede, may thou forever be,
A wondrous sight, a symbol of the sea.

I'm not familiar with this AI application, but I would definitely like to check it out. What makes it so special, I wonder? Besides, we live in an era where anything can be Googled.

I have tried at least an AI art app that generates random images based on portraits. I wouldn't call it "AI art" as much as a photo filter program.

So I decided to give ChatGPT a try. I'm having it summarize some stuff on linguistics and languages that I have a casual interest in, and it's doing a good job at that. Now let's see how it responds to opinion questions...

I asked ChatGPT to write me a Star Trek song in the style of the Beatles. Here are the results :rommie:

Verse 1:
Captain Kirk, he's the man to lead the way
Boldly going where no one's gone today
With his trusty crew by his side
He'll explore the galaxies far and wide

Chorus:
Star Trekkin' through the universe
Discovering new worlds without a curse
With phasers set to stun and warp drive on
We'll go where no man's gone

Verse 2:
Spock is there to keep the captain cool
Logical and calm, he's nobody's fool
And McCoy's there to keep us all alive
With his medical skills, we'll surely thrive

Chorus:
Star Trekkin' through the universe
Discovering new worlds without a curse
With phasers set to stun and warp drive on
We'll go where no man's gone

Bridge:
We'll meet new aliens and make some friends
We'll have some battles but in the end
We'll always find a way to make it right
With courage, faith, and a little might

Chorus:
Star Trekkin' through the universe
Discovering new worlds without a curse
With phasers set to stun and warp drive on
We'll go where no man's gone

Outro:
Star Trekking, oh what a joy
To explore the galaxy like a kid with a toy
With Kirk, Spock, and McCoy by our side
We'll boldly go, and our spirit won't subside.

Has John Oliver done a bit about ChatGPT yet?

I swore I'd never watch his :censored:ing show ever again after he shat all over L&O and Blue Bloods. But I'd actually like to hear what he has to say about this.

Growing up in the 80s and 90s below is pretty much what I imagined the future would be like and we would be building and making our own movies and bringing our own fantasy creations to life..

In my imagination I had this idea for software where you would put in the parameters of the kind of movie or such that you wanted to make and there would be a range of sliders that you moved for various character traits of all your cast and it would generate the actors for you, their looks, voices, scenes and produce for you your very own movie of your own creation. I thought of this growing up in the 80s and 90s and thought that this is where we might head, but with AI seems we just could get there.

That day is coming. By 2066 Star Trek TOS will have new Deep Fake episodes...

ChatGPT goes up to 2021…one alternative is this:
https://writesonic.com/chat

Chores are still hard
https://techxplore.com/news/2023-02-ai-experts-spent-chores-automated.html

As it turns out---they have some of the same problems Data did in TNG
https://medicalxpress.com/news/2023-02-infants-outperform-ai-commonsense-psychology.html

infants recognize human-like motivations even in the simplified actions of animated shapes. Infants predict that these actions are driven by hidden but consistent goals—for example, the on-screen retrieval of the same object no matter what location it's in and the movement of that shape efficiently even when the surrounding environment changes. Infants demonstrate such predictions through their longer looking to such events that violate their predictions—a common and decades-old measurement for gauging the nature of infants' knowledge.

That might be the last stumbling block.
