Spoilers Agents of SHIELD- The Final Season Discussion

Was it?
It would fit with how these kinds of things tend to work, with a lot those kinds of immortal characters, removing/damaging the head and/or brain does tend to kill them.

"The timeline is screwed," says Sousa, pardon his French. It sure is. Robo-Coulson wants to fix things, but how will that be possible with all the damage that's already been done-- and with Sibyl pulling a Hari Seldon and calculating what everyone will do and when? Is Fitz the ace in the hole? Or is he really dead, as Gemma fears? I'm guessing he's the ace in the hole.

But in the meantime, the timeline really is screwed. Pardon my French. Now Gordon and Jaiying are dead-- Gordon got a nice little heroic moment before the end, but Jaiying just got to learn that she turns into a bad parent for Daisy. And Gemma is kidnapped and must reveal the location of Fitz under threat of liquefied femurs-- but maybe Nate is just playing into Fitz's hands. Maybe Fitz has out-Seldoned Sibyl. But the thing is, at what cost?

Maybe the plan is not to change the past, but the future. After all, it's going to be some years before the Cologuards depart into the past to make Chronyca-2 great again. If SHIELD can prevent that, then none of the timeline screwing will have happened, and everything will be as it was. Hopefully with a few happy-ending improvement. Like a flesh-and-blood Coulson and King Enoch.

And I have to say, Sousa is pretty cool for a square. When Gemma said to shoot, he didn't even blink. :rommie:

Man those bring back memories. This show really covered a lot of ground in it's run. I can see myself rewatching it in a year or so. I think the thing I'm going to miss the most about this show is the cast. This was one of the best casts put together on a TV series and everyone was utilized very well.

Well, I think I found someone I hate more than Ruby in this series, and that's Kora. She really does come off as a whiny brat, kinda like how Ruby was in Season 5. I also feel like she's being written a little inconsistent, or just having blind love in Nathaniel.

Overall, a good episode to ramp up to the finale. I really loved the scenes with Mack, Daisy, and Sousa, and the Quake gag was hysterical. I was really hoping they would incorporate "Skye" into it but oh well. Daisy and Sousa are so adorable together.

I'm glad we got Fitz but everything about that felt very ominous, and kind of chilling. This talk about Bloodwork makes me think Fitz has cancer or a debilitating illness, which isn't good and then it ends with Jemma completely forgetting about him. That's not good. I know they've carried the theme of them always being apart all throughout the series, but they deserve happiness for crying out loud.

Looking forward to next week.

I'm betting it's a big time red herring. They want us to think Fitz is dying, but it'll turn out that Simmons was pregnant. She left Fitz and their daughter behind when she came on the mission, which is why she freaked out so hard when she remembered during the time storm. And why forgetting is so important to their plan. Simmons can't know what she's given up, or she'll fall apart and race back to them.

I hope you're right. We do have 2 episodes to go in the series so bring on the darkness now so the next two episodes can clean it up. I'm not sure if that means the end of the season is being rushed or not, but I am very anxious for next week.

I'm doing a rewatch right now. Seems weird to stop and go watch the new episode and then return to a time when Hunter and Bobbi were still around.

The thing is--if this is a "new timeline," which is kind of obvious since they changed so many things, how will they get back to their original timeline? And if their original timeline is out there, does anything they do regarding changing history matter to them, aside of course from making the new timeline a better/worse place?

I think they will not go back to their old timeline or the movie timeline but a new one.

could have done without more FitzSimmons drama ugh and the "evil" couple is just the stupid icing on the bad cake.

Deke Nakatoma Plazing was hilariousl(y, cut short)
Loved ALL the Quinjet moments and talks, whether it was Mack/Daisy, Daisy/Souza or Souza/Mack.

Hope the story is wrapped up by hour 1 of the 2 hour finale and we get the 2nd part of the finale for character moments/goodbyes/outlooks/retros or whatever.

I wish ABC dedicated the entire night to Shield with a retro look back in the 8:00 hour. This show, for better or worse, served ABC really well over the years and while it wasn't the ratings Juggernaut like DWTS or Modern Family, ABC still stuck with it and even gave us Agent Carter. 7 years is a really good run, and I think a special look back would have been nice, like what Arrow did before it's finale.

"Who's Fitz?"

:wah:

According to the press release for next weeks episodes
Piper and Davis's actors are back
