Spoilers Agents of SHIELD- The Final Season Discussion

Clark Gregg, and his wife, Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey, announced on Friday that they are getting divorced. They've been married for 19 years, which is pretty damn impressive for a Hollywood marriage.
I’v followed Clark on Twitter for a few years and nothing he has ever tweeted made me think he was anything a great guy who really loved his wife. But of course we all know that in marriages, you can never tell what’s really going on from what you can see on the outside.

Wishing both a speedy recovery.

Them getting a divorce doesn't mean that he's not a great guy who really loved his wife.

CTV accidentally aired the trailer for next week's episode at some point. So watch out for spoilers.

Oh dear GOD, that episode was fucking painful to watch.

I was really looking forward to seeing the Agents handle the '80s, but....hell. I can see the vibe they were going for, but the joke went on WAAAY too long. We really didn't need to see (and hear. oy) Deke's band for so long or spend so much time with his gang. I also didn't like the way Mack was portrayed. What he went through was difficult but that character has faced a lot horrible things and handled it well--the long period of sulking and abandoning Deke was not OK for someone who is supposed to be a leader of SHIELD.

I had really been enjoying this season....until now. I hope next week's episode is better.I

Eta. Fixed Deke's name

That was more 80s than the 80s!
So Mack's beard grew to show lack of caring and passage of time, but he kept shaving his head??
And that Monogram Corvette model seemed to turn into a Mustang as he was finishing it.

Gods, I'm so damn tired of Deke. He's such an idiot and an asshole. I really loathed how he barged into Mack's apartment the first time and insulted Mack's car modeling as a coping mechanism. Deke's heart was in the right place in trying to get Mack to get out of his grief, but Deke went about it in every possible wrong way.

But that wasn't even the worst part. Deke fell back into his old "steal things from the future and pretend he created them so everyone will love him." I fucking hated it when it happened the last time and I hated it even more this time.

It didn't help that the episode leaned a little too hard on all of the 80s tropes, especially the horror ones.

Overall, the episode had the basics of a touching episode but executed those idea very poorly.

That said, the episode had two great things about it: Coulson Headroom and the lovely little tribute to Ron Glass.

Next time: Ugh, Nathaniel survived? Really? Why? Fuck off.

I am enjoying this season more than recent years. I guess I enjoy the whole time travel story but I was a bit unclear how much time really passed. Maybe I misheard, but I could have sworn when Deke knocked on the door he said it's 1993. I must have misheard because it made more sense that it was 1983.

This episode WAS good, and I DID enjoy it, but I feel like the script was more of a draft. With some tweaking, this could have been phenomenal. I would have liked to have seen Mack deal with his issues and see what was going on with his younger self rather than just have him stare into space. As he has been so personally affected by this timeline, will that kid grow up and join SHIELD? If not, what really happens when they get back to 2020? Will there be two Macks? The timeline is so different, what will really be the story?

I loved the episode. Tons of fun and I don't see anything wrong ding a pure comedy though it is kind of weird to tag it to something like the after effect of seeing Mac's parents be killed. As for Deke stealing music the difference is this time he was stealing for a good cause. Also lets face it. He is isn't a musician who knows how to write songs. I mean where else is he going to get his material from in order to use a band as a cover? The band has to actually be good enough for the cover to work so just steal stuff from the future and he was smart to steal stuff from the near future meaning you know these songs are going to work on a 80's audience. If he tried to steal something from modern bands then maybe the songs don't work.
My favorite line is when Cricket dies and Deke says something like "No Cricket doesn't have a bad bone in his body" or something like that. Well that and the robots. The dramatic handshake taken right out of "Predator" though it would work even better if Deke had some muscles. Also the actor who plays Deke is actually a good singer unless they lip synched it. It wasn't a half bad performance. I can see why his band was having some success.
