Spoilers Agents of SHIELD- The Final Season Discussion

The Streets of San Francisco, a Quinn Martin Production ('72-'77)
also
Dan August
Cannon
Barnaby Jones
Bannon
and a few others from the 70's.
Yeah, Streets of San Francisco (which I have never seen nor heard of 'till now) does seem to have been the major touchstone for the 70's title sequence.

Of the handful of US shows I have seen from this period, I don't recall any others doing the thing where the principle casts' names are called out for their freeze frame.
Granted, most of the 60's and 70's shows I've seen were genre shows, not dramas and cop shows (I doubt many of them were ever shown over here in the first place, let alone put on repeats) so most of my personal points of recollection are more of the early-to-mid 80's (A-Team, Knight Rider, etc.) Even so, the difference doesn't seem to be all that great. Even the original 60's MI intro is about as sophisticated as anything from the next decade and a half.
Either some of these shows were way ahead of their time, or TV stagnated for a good decade.
Given the state of the movie industry and animation in that period, I'm guessing the latter.

From the trailer for next week's episode, they're in the 80s.

I hope the season ends with Coulson being dead for good, no copies, no resurrections, just leave him in peace.

...or have his LMD switch places with him before Loki kills him... ;)

This was a pretty good episode.
Poor Daisy, that was definitely unpleasant. I wonder if this will have any lasting effect on her powers?
Mack's parents being Chronicoms was a nice twist, I did not expect. At least Mack's already been born, so we don't have to worry about him ceasing to exist.
Do we know how tough Coulson's LMD body is? Could he have survived the explosion?
I'm curious what the reveal that the other Chronichoms were talking to Sibyl in a VR environment means. Is she just a different type of Chronicom somewhere else, or could she be a computer program?
I had expected Simmons to have some kind of an implant after the hints we've been getting, so the reveal of Diana wasn't huge surprise.

Could you imagine if the credits were like this?

I wonder what they will do for the 80’s. A parody of some bad sci fi Show?

I will spoiler the what i saw in the teaser/preview for next week

the robot in the preview looks A LOT like the killer robots in Chopping Mall

Mack talked about the movie in the show as a reason he hates robots.

I guess a twist could be he and Deke build them to fight Chronicoms.

I saw "Chopping Mall" for the first time I believe this year or late last year. I liked and I kind of hope they go for it. Plus if it's in a shopping mall that of course is a big 80's thing. Malls that is. Little surprised they didn't want to touch on "Back to the Future" but maybe they will. Or "Terminator."

Trivia: Apparently THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO also did an episode titled "A Trout in the Milk."

Trivia Trivia: That was the very episode the director watched for reference when preparing for this show. ;)

How did I know that? Well, for those that don't know, Elizabeth Henstridge has been livestreaming watch-alongs of the final season episodes on her youtube channel, with special guests from the cast and crew via Zoom.

I think it's very telling that these people are willing to show up off their own backs just for fun and for the opportunity to interact with fans of a show which for them, has been over for a full year. A lot of shows go on about how "we're just like a family", and it's usually utter BS, but this appears to be one of the rare cases where it's actually true.

As I suspected, I've never seen any of these! ;)
(Heard of 'The Fugitive' of course, thanks to the movie, but never caught an episode.)

Except those shows are from the sixties, not the seventies. If you're going for seventies vibe, you don't want confuse things by evoking sixties-era spy shows.
Mission: Impossible was actually still on the air during the time this episode took place. I would grant them artistic license for Man From UNCLE because of the similarity in concept. But M:I had the better title sequence, anyway.

great episode! cool writting IMO and didn't mind the "little" fighting.

Deke zapping out poor Enoch was hilarious and then Gemma making him apologize. decent enough story line, but I hope it won't be one of the "final mcguffins" steering up drama in the final(e episodes). Still not missing Fitz personally.

Knew Macks Dad was a bad one, once they closed in on his arm, back in the base.
But that's a real sucker punch, after his daughter twice, now this.

Sousa telling a part of his survival story to Daisy was a nice touch!
LOLed how Malick got taken out.
But again, a cruel flashback or flash forward for Daisy.
Glad Sousa is staying on!

Kinda cool to see May shrugging off Coulson death with "He'll come back, he always does" (or something similar).
Awesome idea about LMD saving the real Coulson in Avengers. Now I hope it happens!
LMD Coulson vs Chronicom Intelligence (a bit like the one in Captain Marvel) was well done.

best lines for me in this episode:
LMD Coulson "Dying? It's kinda my superpower,"
Malick to Daisy "Really cool thing to say, by the way. Your whole vibe is just, wow."

As for the 7.07 Trailer HYPED for THAT Decade, the Mack/Robot Mall hints and all. Hopefully at least a 2 parter :)

It's one of the great ones, that's for sure. What do you consider number one?
Surprised you have to ask...

(From a show that started in the late '60s but ran through the entire decade of the '70s and a wee bit into the '80s.)

Six Million Dollar Man (1974-78):
