I was anticipating that they might get Leopold and Zombie Jemma to fight each other, so what actually happened between them caught me by surprise.
I guessed what would happen, but I doubted they'd actually go there. Then they did.

It wasn't a coherent persona like Leopold, more of a composite of all the thoughts and feelings Jemma has been actively suppressing all these years. That said, I did notice a smear of the gold face-paint and part of the costume from when she was a slave of Kasius, and I suspect the whole savage, bone-dagger wielding killer parts seems to represent the time she spent on Maveth. So not something from a previous episode like Leopold?
Does TV Tropes have a name for these kind of episodes where they're in an empty abstract world in the character's heads? The first one I remember was a "very special episode" of Family Ties.
A thought just occurred to me. The actor that plays Deke is now a full time cast member, but has barely been a presence this season despite it being half over already. Meanwhile, the actors that play Enoch, Piper, Davis and Dr. Benson are all just guest stars despite playing far more substantial roles. Wouldn't the better option have been to just make all of them (Deke included) "Also Starring"?
Do you watch Legion? Pretty much the whole show is that.I love these stories where a character's inner thoughts and feelings are made explicit in a surreal world-- it's so 70s. I wonder what my mindscape would look like. Probably the 70s.

Actually, no, I've never seen that. I believe it's based on a Marvel character that I never cared for, but maybe I'll check into it.Do you watch Legion? Pretty much the whole show is that.
Credit placement is not about the quantity of an actor's screen time or their prominence in the story, but is about how much they get paid and how good a deal they made. And actors are rarely demoted to a lower credit than they had before. Since Jeff Ward (Deke) was the first-billed recurring player last season, it makes sense that he got promoted to a higher credit rank for his return, even if it's not commensurate with the size of his part so far. Maybe they plan to do more with him later in the season, and needed to sign him on as a regular to ensure that he'd be available when they got around to it.

You should come back. They only have one more season. Might as well see it through. JasonIt's really surreal and freaky and stylistically experimental and dark. It's designed to make us uncertain whether what we're watching is even real or the product of an unreliable/unstable narrator (viewpoint character). I think that works better in season 1 than season 2, though, since by season 2 it's supposed to be clearer what's real, so the continued surrealism feels more like an affectation. I also really disliked the story turns season 2 took, so I won't be back for season 3.

One trivial detail about the Chronicoms: they keep invoking "a star in the constellation Cygnus", so I find myself wondering which star is "Chronica". It's bugging me.
As far as I know it has almost nothing to do with the comics, beyond the basic concept of the character, so I wouldn't let your feelings about the comics version stop you from checking the show out.Actually, no, I've never seen that. Interesting. I just blew through DD S3 a lot faster than I planned to, and was considering using the extra time to try The Punisher, which I'd originally considered to be a "maybe" after finishing JJ. Without getting too spoilery, anything in particular that really turned you off the show? No. I really didn't like season 2, and it made a choice at the end that I find reprehensible. I'm not going to come back for season 3 just because it's the last one. I already made the mistake of watching season 2 of The Punisher out of a sense of completism, and now I wish I hadn't.
