Agents of SHIELD: Season 6

Wow, we haven't even gotten Season 6 yet. I wonder if this means we'll have smaller gap between Seasons 6 and 7?
I remember Clark Gregg flat-out stating in early 2013 that he was going to have nothing to do with the upcoming SHIELD television show on ABC, but he would be tuned in like the rest of us. ;)
Oh, I forgot about that.

Whereas I can't see the writers doing something as creatively lazy as just giving Coulson another resurrection. A lot of the show has been about Coulson dealing with the consequences of his first resurrection, and they finally brought his story to a close in a meaningful way. I can get them not wanting to lose the actor, but bringing the character back from the dead a second time would be a cheat.

It sounds more like Gregg will be playing a very different character; even if it is something like an alternate-reality version of Phil Coulson, he'll still have a very different personality, and it sounds like Gregg relishes the opportunity to play something different after so many years. That kind of change is a challenge that actors and writers tend to enjoy, so I don't see any reason to doubt them when they say that's what they're doing.
Sherloque Coulson?

It's so weird that they're already working on season 7 and we don't even have a premiere date for season 6 other than this summer!
It'd be even weirder if they get the season 8 pickup before season 6 airs...

Seriously though, aren't these supposed to be shorter, 13 episode season orders? if so then I can see them burning though season 6 & 7 in like 8-10 months with a small hiatus in-between.

Yeah, it seems to me that "seasons 6 and 7" are basically a single production season's worth of episodes (albeit a long one by modern standards) being split over two broadcast seasons. SciFi/Syfy did that with several of Eureka's seasons, splitting a single production block into two broadcast seasons aired a year apart. And it's pretty much what Netflix does routinely with its animated shows, although it releases "seasons" of them only a few months apart.

how the hell are they going to keep spoilers from leaking? :p

Those two are so adorable together.

Did we know that the show was returning in May? Last I heard, it was sometime in the summer.

One of the audience members asked Clark why May wasn't in Captain Marvel and he said he fought for it, although I don't know if he meant in jest or not.
