Agents of Shield - Season 4

Damn, I wonder if he was going to appear in the Framework.

I think Garrett's absence from the altered timeline in the framework can be easily explained since without Coulson in Shield I doubt there would be a Project TAHITI and no one would know about the effects of GH-125.

Well, I'm certain the the rest of the season has already been filmed, so if they planned to have Garrett appear, Paxton would have already filmed his scenes.

You would probably be wrong. Just this week Chloe and Elizabeth posted on their IG accounts backstage shots of them filming. They still have a few episodes (very few albeit) to finish shooting.

Wow, that's really surprising. I would've thought the season would already have long finished filming. Seems strange to me to cut it so close. I guess that's another reason for the long wait between episodes.

Maybe Hydra is there to act as the evil enemy that Shield agents can fight against without feeling unsure about their being evil. Shield knew that Hydra was evil and should be destroyed, but lately they haven't always been sure who is the enemy. Some inhumans are good, some are bad; some politicians are good, some are bad; some LMDs are innocuous and some are under the spell of the Dark Hold -- it isn't always totally clear who are friends and who are foes. In the Framework things are more straight forward and easier to discern.

So, in other words, this lack of ambiguity will be a fantasy illusion for the characters? Now, this is interesting idea.

"What if Africa had colonized the Americas before Europe did?"

That would be an interesting scenario. The question is . . . would the Americas be better, worse or just similar?

Well, I guess the season (?) finale will air in mid-May, so It's not super surprising that they're still filming in February. They could probably film right up towards the end of March.

That gives me a bit of hope that at least the show's producers will know whether they're filming a season finale or a series finale. The bigwigs at ABC might not have officially decided whether each and every show is coming back yet, but I'll bet the Marvel folks have a pretty good sense of what AOS's chances for renewal are, since they're likely working closely with ABC brass on planning other shows too.

I'm still of the opinion that an Agent Carter-style season would be perfectly acceptable. Have Inhumans run in the fall, bring back AOS for a quick run in January and February or thereabouts, and then have some third property show up in the spring.

AOS has obviously already been practicing for that style of show-running with the three separate pods that make up the current season.

Maybe for viewers, but Networks don't think like that.
It's cheaper to make 24 episodes of one show than three separate 8 episode show...

It'd certainly be nice to get a fifth and final season both to hit 100 episodes, and maybe even do a final arc that'd tie directly into Infinity War and feature a big-name cameo or two... :bolian:

Sorry I am late...but just wanted to comment on the potential May-Coulson romance...

When AoS first started, I was hoping Skye would be the long lost child of Coulson & May (as I recall, they said a Shield agent had taken her away from a massacre as a baby)... but since that wasn't the case..i would rather not have them be in a romance.. we already have 2 among the team. It'd be nice if they were actually just friends. Close friends who understand each other...but don't like each other like that. Like "buddy cops", but less bickering and more understanding (i.e. a little different, but similar to Garrett & Danny on Hawaii 5 0).

However, I would love to see Clark Gregg, Ming Na and Chloe Bennett be in a production portraying a family...something where they can some fun with it.

^ There's already a separate thread for that, especially if you want to just drop news in without any commentary whatsoever.

This Framework story arc . . . I realize that I had earlier compared it to the TV series, "CAPRICA". But didn't the CW have a similar plot in the "Invasion!" crossover episode for "THE ARROW", last fall?
