Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

What if Disney made a horrible tactical error?

They can't possible cancel the series before they've building their Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. Rollercoaster for Disney World?

They can't. Universal Studios has the license to make Marvels rides and attractions east of the Mississippi in perpetuity, I believe.

I really like how Mack dealt with Fitz-- while everybody else was walking on eggshells, Mack treated him like a person and brought him out. Mack is just the kind of friend he needs.

I also liked Hunter's arc. All he cared about was making sure that Izzy got a decent burial and that the families of the dead were provided for. Really stupid way of going about it, but it was a touching story.

Also, Coulson was acting a bit more like his old self, which was encouraging. I loved the bit at the end when he met with Talbot. Maybe the dumbass will learn if the show lasts long enough.

So, the teaser for next week...

Is Simmons really working for HYDRA, or did she just infiltrate them on Coulson's orders?

I would venture to guess that, either way...

It has something to do with her desire to help "repair" Fitz. She could be desperately working to get the tech for that, and believes HYDRA are the only ones who can supply it.

At any rate, the teaser seems to be implying Coulson is not aware of Simmons's motivations. If she's infiltrating, it seems like it's without his knowledge.

Probably not certain of them, but it would have to be very high up on his list of probable motives for apparent defection at the moment. No?

Yeah, it's telling that he didn't realize Simmons was gone. It seems that no one at all has tried to approach the subject with him before and tell him he's talking to himself and they're said that Simmons is gone.

I do, too. I already liked Mack but I think the little bit of time he had really enhanced his character, and I like how he seems like a regular guy but doesn't act like cloaked airplanes and superpowered humans are really not that big a deal.

Kind of summed up by my favorite line from him so far, (from memory) "You know how some people can play by ear? Well, I need sheet music.":techman:

I think Fitz already knew he's crazy. After rewatching the last episode, I noticed when Mack asked "who are you talking to", Fitz answered nobody as Simmons said "me".

...Poor Vin Diesel, he potentially goes from a guy that can only say 3 words to someone that can't speak at all.

Groot says four words.

I noticed that. I'm watching for Simmons to display knowledge or information that Fitz can't reasonably know; i.e. evidence that she's not just in his head. This time she seemed aggressive and was telling Fitz what to do in many scenes. Hallucinations could do that, but we'll see.

Still haven't got round to watching the first episode yet, nevermind the second. Actually I think I'm gonna wait a few weeks so at least I can watch some together, rather than relying on the jumbled up mess of airdates that US shows like this get into.

Also has it been anounced how many episodes s2 will consist of? I presume it'll be 22 again. Though I'd much rather it be 12/13 or so and not have to put up with the barrage of filler episodes.

^Yes. 10 episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will air, then 8 episodes of Agent Carter, and then 12 episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

12-13 sounds great. In that case the show would fell more epic with better and bigger special effects. I must admit Absorbing Man was well done.

I'm still trying to figure out how turning into asphalt makes you and immovable object cable of totaling a presumably armored SUV.

Are you sure he said "nobody." I noticed him look confused and say nothing (or umm). But if you're certain he said "nobody" then you're probably right.

I can't remember the name of the actor playing Mack, but if he weren't already playing a role in the MCU he would have been an ideal Luke Cage. At least physically, anyway.

Just watched it again (DVR) and he says "no one" (I was out earlier). Also, imaginary Simmons can move his arms too. Creepy.
