Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

Act II:

Okay. Agent Walters. Someone we should know? Someone I've forgotten (is she the one who was controlled by the Centipede project, for example)?

So...May was married, huh?

And--figures, Christian's the BAD brother. (Or so you-know-who claims....)

Great moment with Coulson: "Trust me...he gave us more than you think."

And: "I-I mean that sincerely, not passive-aggressively."

The fact that they announced a Inhumans movie, makes a lot of the theories going around seem very plausible.

If they're doing an Inhumans movie, I doubt they'll establish any of the major characters on the show.

^Seems to me that they're setting up Black Widow to be Hawkeye's love interest, in the MCU.

Act III:
Liking Mockingbird so far. Strikes me as something of a grown-up Skye, almost.

Oh, and he and she shooting the guy simultaneously....

Interesting how Simmons can't finish Fitz's sentences correctly, now.

Love Coulson's battle of control with
Sen. Ward...and by extension, "our" Ward.

So...who is the more untrustworthy--Christian Ward or Grant Ward?

Is Coulson falling for a trap? I can't believe he'd take anything at face value.

Interesting reveal on Skye's dad--assuming, again, Ward's telling the truth. If he is...then his "alliance" at the end of last episode with Whitehall is a ploy so he can get his Revenge...!

Act IV:
Coulson laying down the law for Ward!

The episode seems to be building up to "Ward IS trying to redeem himself"...but I can't help wondering if there's a twist to it where you-know-who is the good guy.

Frankly, I'm not too impressed with the "Beckers" twist--didn't seem to be enough direct build-up to it, beforehand, to warrant this big "OH, CRAP!"....

Act V:

Love the whole "among mercs" thing. Very slick--and May and Mockingbird kicking butt.

Okay...the big wrapping up, now?

Talbot being "cool" with May (and SHIELD)?

Sen. Ward giving his speech...looks like he's the good one, after all!

Guess I was right about the twist! (Or...was I?)

AND...I LOVE the Avengers 2 trailer! I LOVE IT!!! (Awesome moment of camaraderie among the team!)

Epilogue:
Hmm...new guy with The Markings, huh? Interesting....

Nice look at the next ep: Coulson's really got issues, I guess....

Now for the $1,000,000 question:

What's Ward's agenda, now? Did he do what he did to escape you-know-who...or because he's been bad all along (except for his helping Skye)?

Either way, the parallels to a big twist of way-back-when are way too eerie....

Okay: Is Talbot officially stupid? Refusing to differentiate HYDRA from SHIELD? What happened to the begrudging understanding with Coulson?

I don't recall a begrudging understanding. I recall Coulson having to point the guns of two planes at him in order to leave.

So...is he the evil older brother? Or the younger one Ward claims he protected from the evil older brother?

Or...was Ward full of crap when he told that story, and he's neither?

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I agree about no major characters. But Kevin Feige hinted at movie Easter Eggs earlier than you'd think and the TV show might follow suit.

It wasn't just that; it's also Coulson's conversation with him about the impersonator.

But again--suddenly, after the attack in the beginning of this ep, he's telling the senator he doesn't think it's SHIELD they should be worrying about. So why the constant 180s?

Gas Ward in the cell he is in without opening the door.

Wake him up in a new prison cell on the other side of the country.

It was moronic to let Ward be awake for a second of the transit between cells.

Unless Ward is on a mission for Coulson.

I really like Talbot in this show. I hope he stays around.

Who were those guys that Ward escaped from, Army? I thought it said FBI on their front patches but it was quick, I doubt Coulson would authorize killing either, tho'.

Is it just me or did they just kill more people in this one episode than all first season?

It was also moronic to put Ward in standard handcuffs that any rinky-dink TV bad guy could get out of, in a universe where those cool arm-encompassing solid adamantium power-draining manacles exist. They could have at least used cable ties!

What manacles are you talking about? I don't remember ever seeing them in a MCU movie. Adamantium is tied up in the X-Men license, and even Loki wore standard handcuffs in The Avengers.

They should have cut his arms and legs off and thought about reattaching them on the other side of his trip.

Of course, if Ward is on a secret mission for Coulson, then who was that "You are an asshole" speech for the benefit of?

My guess is the transfer point with Christian Ward was when he handed over custody, so they were US officials transporting him when he escaped (since he would stand trial in the United States).

Probably not. There were a lot of people killed explicitly in the latter episodes (the fight over the Hub, the people at the fridge, the cop shot by Ward, the fight against Garrett at the end). In addition, even in early episodes, there were probably a decent number of South Americans (either army or resistance) killed in 0-8-4, there was the doctor Chiang killed, there were the two people in TAHITI, etc.
