Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

I wonder if HYDRA trades on the open market. AIM did something similar in the comics. Of course, that just made them as vulnerable to a hostile takeover as anyone else. In the current arc of Avengers, Roberto DaCosta, aka Sunspot) has become the new owner of AIM by buying up all of the stock. ("They're really nice guys once you get rid of the upper management")

It would be hilarious if HYDRA were finally taken down once and for all by insider trading.

Yeah, they have been very vague on just where exactly a lot of the action is actually taking place this season.
Pretty certain they said that when May was chasing the SVU, that that was Virginia, placing the SHIELD home base in the greater DC area, which fits with Talbot being a Pentagon guy.

Oh, and recent calls that Agent May's taken.

Any names besides Coulson that stand out?

"Nat" is probably short for Natasha Romanoff.

"Woo" is most likely Jimmy Woo, from Agents of ATLAS.

"Lt. Stone" is possibly the Code: Blue guy.

"S. Johnson" may be a relative of Skye, if she turns out to be Daisy Johnson.

"Bell" may be an inside reference to producer Jeffery Bell.
Agent 60, eh? How does S.H.I.E.L.D. assign those numbers? Was Agent 60 part of some elite S.H.I.E.L.D. training program like Agent 13/Sharon Carter and Agent 33 or something?

According to this periodically-updated list, episode 8 of season 2 will be called "The Things We Bury".

It's something they've done on and off with featured characters over the years. For instance, Mockingbird is Agent 19 (or maybe 16, I'm not certain). I don't think it corresponds to specialized training or elite service postings, just a swipe of what Fleming did with 007 and his other numeral agents.

Hey I just thought of something. They haven't even mentioned Deathlok yet this season!

I wouldn't be surprised if his appearance was limited to a Very Special Episode focusing on his Walking The Earth*, quietly doing good without drawing attention to himself.

If they were going to deal with a villain form AoU, I would think Von Stucker would be a lot more likely. He is Hydra after all, and he would definitely be a lot easier on the budget.

I'm hoping they deal with him prior to AoU to make the episodes a prequel of sorts. Would be a great score if they can get him to have a guest appearance.

Agreed. With HYDRA as the central villains, at least have some build-up to a big reveal of the Baron.

*(Y'know, like Caine in Kung Fu....)

Okay: Is Talbot officially stupid? Refusing to differentiate HYDRA from SHIELD? What happened to the begrudging understanding with Coulson?

(And he tells the Senator he thinks it may not have been SHIELD--so...?

Oh--and looks like Mockingbird's back to blonde, for the fans. :)

Finally--the brother. THE BROTHER!

So...is he the evil older brother? Or the younger one Ward claims he protected from the evil older brother?

Or...was Ward full of crap when he told that story, and he's neither?
