Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

Oh, I don't think she'd join full time, but Nick Fury and Lady Sif aren't joining full time either. If she appears, I don't think it'll be this season anyway. I'm hoping Cap3 will finely give her some character development. But there's no point stealing their thunder ahead of time.

Or she might be used come May when the Agents of SHIELD references what is going to happen in Civil War. They might set it up beautifully like the we found it, notify Maria Hill to call the Avengers scene before the Age of Ultron

That's what I meant by connecting character, a character who appears in episodes specifically tied to the movies.

Adrianne Palicki, Nick Blood to Star in Marvel Pilot for ABC

ABC and Marvel are changing course on their former Agents of SHIELD spinoff.

The network has handed out a pilot order to a Marvel drama starring Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse (aka Mockingbird) and Nick Blood (Lance Hunter), The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Titled Marvel's Most Wanted, the drama was rumored to be in early development last pilot season and was originally conceived as an Agents of SHIELD spinoff featuring both characters. However, Marvel and ABC have instead picked up a pilot for what's being described as a new take focusing on the same duo and their continuing adventures.

Sources tell THR that it's too soon to determine how — or if — the potential new series would be launched as a backdoor pilot in the upcoming third season of Marvel's first ABC scripted drama.

"not a spin-off"??? In what way is it not a spin-off?

It probably means its a show whose origins may be with Agents of SHIELD, but it won't be as closely tied to it's mothership series as we might have previously expected.

Less Buffy The Vampire Slayer/Angel and more Cheers/Frasier.

Which, unless the term spinoff has changed, I'd consider a spinoff ;)

But who cares, it sounds like it might be fun. A bit of a delay might be a good thing. Give the two characters a bit more time with SHIELD before the not spinoff.

The king of unrelated spin-offs would have to be Lou Grant. Let's take a character from a half-hour sitcom, change his job, and make him the star of a one-hour drama....

Being 35 years younger than you are, I saw that dealio the other way around in reruns.

Why is Lou Grant Younger and funny all of a sudden?

Yeah, but that's still a spin-off. I have no idea what kind of weirdly narrow definition of "spin-off" they're using if they think that "an entirely new project solely focused on the two characters to continue their story" somehow doesn't qualify as one. I mean, that's pretty much the definition of a spin-off.

I kind of doubt that you're 35 years younger than me...could be wrong. Give me a hint, do you shave yet?

I kid! I kid! If I had said a realistic number, it might have been more insulting than preposterous.

I was 1 years old when Lou Grant Started, but I feel old as dirt when I see the filth that the kids today are into.

It doesn't make sense to me either. The only thing I can think of is that maybe it doesn't really tie into any of the specific story arcs, other than the Bobbi and Hunter's relationship.

I read another article whose interpretation is that Bobbi and Hunter might not actually leave Agents of SHIELD to do their own show, that they might be on both shows at the same time. Maybe it's a prequel, or something that would go between seasons of AoS. So it wouldn't be a spin-off because they wouldn't be off AoS. I still think that might be a bit of a narrow way of defining the term, though.

That would make us about 6 years apart...so how is making me seem almost 29 years older than I am less insulting...? :p

You're talking about this show as if you were there as a participant in the experience, when in reality you share a birthdate with Mary Tyler Moore. In all likelihood like myself you caught this in syndication, rather than that you were an adult (with 2 kids) talking about the jocularity of the new episode around a watercooler in an office circa 1971... Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I'm sorry if you think I was trying to hurt you.

My bad.

Is it just me, or does this new season seem to be pretty crowded. I hope the focus is still on our core characters, but if there is a Mockingbird show I hope that the characters leave Agents. There can be too much of a good thing.
