Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

It actually reminded me of Jackie Brown, with the cool music playing as she walks to work, beaming proudly.

I really love how the episode teases us with mood whiplashes: Simmons walks to work with a smile, charming the guy at the front desk (who charms her right back), confidently getting to work--BOOM:

We see a HYDRA symbol!

Simmons goes to her apartment--
Coulson's there, saying in a stern voice "Do you think I wouldn't find out?!" implying he's talking about her being a traitor--BOOM: It's about her eating habits.

And then the conversation makes us breathe a big sigh of relief--she's not a traitor, she's a mole.

And finally...
Simmons is summoned to the upper levels by Mysterious Dark-haired Deep-voiced Guy. He tosses a couple of files on the table and demands in a stern voice why she was keeping "it" from them. CUE COMMERCIAL BREAK....

And then we find it's about Gillis.

Pretty awesome episode, and next week looks like it will be a lot of fun.

BTW, it's Donnie Gill, not Dobie.

There was a 50s sitcom called Dobbie Gillis.

People old enough to be confused by this, are most likely confused by a lot of things.

If only ABC hadn't spoiled the whole mole thing buy using most of that scene as a coming-attraction JUST before the show started. :klingon:

Wouldn't call it much of a spoiler. I mean did anyone seriously think Simmons had gone over to the other side?

Also, Coulson was acting a bit more like his old self, which was encouraging. I loved the bit at the end when he met with Talbot. Maybe the dumbass will learn if the show lasts long enough.

Has Col. Decker ever learned anything while he chased the A Team?

Still, I'd rather see a major plot point revealed in its proper place in the script, during the show, not in the damn promo.

Great episode. I'm enjoying broken Fitz more and more. I felt for him when he tried to confront Ward.

I was hoping Donnie would join Shield as the first gifted. I'm not sure if he'll return but they left it open enough at the end for him to.

Also, I was wondering why Trip didn't go on the mission but I figured that scene with him and Coulson was prerecorded and he's busy with his other show.

Yes.. i liked the character in season 1 too but here it's more compassion for Fitz' situation. I loved the scene between him and Ward.. both are initially shocked to see each other for two very different reasons.

Ward because of having to face the damage he's done to someone he may have considered a friend and Fitz for all the pain he's suffered and for what he's lost. It was brilliantly played by both actors and De Caestecker just has a big run now playing damaged Fitz and it's just heartbreaking to see him in this state.

Speaking of Ward.. i really, really hope he doesn't get redeemed but being a prisoner of Shield he comes off so believable in his remorse (also kudos to the acting of Dalton) that i slowly begin to think that's what the writers will do even if they go for the very long haul (or only to make us want him back on the team before killing him).

The others also had their own cool moments, especially Skye who i could not stand in the beginning but has changed into quite a cool character (and badass too under the tutelage of The Cavalry as evidenced by her oneshotting the poor guy).

This show now is a far cry from the first part of season 1.. i now am actually excited to see it and i find so many things to enjoy in the new episodes. Very good job on behalf of the writers and producers of the show.

Oh my God, that opening scene with Simmons! I loved it!

"There is no way I'm looking for a boyfriend"

What an utterly brilliant song choice. So trolling for all the FitzSimmons fans!

He'll be fine obviously.
He might be a little pissed at Skye for shooting him though.

Great episode. Ward has been very compelling, and his scene with Fitz was great.

He did go on the mission - he and Coulson were on the Bus. I think Trip stayed there in case they needed to make a fast getaway.

I guess I'll have to resign myself to the fact that we'll never get to see either STRIKE or MI13 in the MCU, what with Lance Hunter appearing here as a mere agent of SHIELD.

We do have S.T.R.I.K.E. in the MCU via The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It's just a highly divergent adaptation.

I wonder if Donnie is still alive. No body was recovered, after all.

If they don't get new viewers, there's no season three.

If they drop off too many old viewers, season 2 gets cut in half.
