That's not what I said. What I said, there is no friggin use for the body of a near geriatric Starfleet captain. Picard..... maybe.... He was once Locutus, maybe something Borg related. But that is still a huge stretch.

Exactly. First I don't think Shatner would return at this point. He's 92. If they just wanted to show that his body was retrieved, the scene did it's purpose and they should let it be and concentrate on other characters that are younger and still have many years of stories left in them
I didn't hate Paul Wesley, I thought he was fine overall. Some acting choices he made wasn't what I thought Kirk should be, but maybe that's too many years of seeing Bill Shattner in the role.
True, but there are multiple storyline ways to resurrect a James T. Kirk.
If you were going to "Revive" James T. Kirk, it wouldn't make sense for it to be a old Kirk.
It would be a "Younger" version body wise.
But if you want the "Older Version", Will Shattner would be a Inner monologue / Herman's Head character in the "Younger Body" being portrayed by somebody else.
That would be a 'interesting take', what do you think?

Kirk's body was just a red herring for when they'd steal Picard's body. To make that reveal less random and establish some precedent of S31 storing bodies.

Learning that Terry Matalas thinks The Return was a wonderful book makes me think he probably also likes ketchup on his hot dogs.
