What the hell are you talking about? Why should Kes change radically when no one else among the main characters did change radically during those 7 years.
What radical change, she's growing up from a girl to a woman.
How is character development a radical change?
Who determines what's a proper manner for the use of her powers? Would you still think the expanding of her powers was cheap if Kes had stayed instead? As for Kes's powers, they could be used in a proper manner. Expanding them to what we had to see in "The Gift" and "Fury" was only ridiculous and used as a cheap way to get rid of the character in the first place and destroy her in the second.
Again, would you have found her expanded powers ridiculous if Kes stayed?Of course they could have used the fact that she had certain powers for stories about the character (which I actually have done in some of my stories) but not expanded them to something ridiculous.
Why would I beat around the bush?Well I brought up "Fury" here because of your constant defense for that episode. I assumed that your suggestions for expanding her powers would be leading to the events in "Fury". Maybe I was wrong there and then I apologize for my wrong conclusion.
If I wanted to talk about "Fury", I'd would have brought it up.
I suggest you simply listen to what's said instead of falsely assuming things that aren't being talked about.
