Regarding the "Pull to Open" issue, this is what a friend of mine said in an email exchange:

I've done enough couples counseling to recognize that little exchange as a point-maker for the TARDIS. Yes it SAYS pull to open, and it doesn't mean pull the big door to open, but she's going to use it to criticize him anyway.

You'd have to understand how couples fight to get that what's real doesn't matter as much as what you can pin on someone does. Just one tiny bit of nonsense in a long list of why I'm not married.

"The only water in the forest is the river".

Anyone care to speculate?

I have a few theories. :D

Meant to say: Arthur Darvill is a good actor. Looks gormless, but he's got it. Old Rory was damned scary and very effective.

Your friend is VERY wise. That is very, very true.

Good. Wasn't overly impressed with this one but it was entertaining. From the trailers, was hoping that seeing the RTD TARDIS would mean some multi-Doctor shenangans. Alas, more mundane. Ditto with their being Time Lords or the Doctor's wife. Seems like a lot of setup for cools thing only to get a less cool thing.

Favorite part, the TARDIS telling the Doctor how she stole him!

Mr Awe

I liked the way she kept calling him 'my thing' until she remembered what he was called.

It sounded like thing to me.

Everyone gets something different, I guess. She didn't see him as her thief but the other way round.

Water is used to put out fires. The forest is presumably a reference to the forest that was used for the books in the library of the dead and wherein the Vashta Nerada laid their eggs. River is presumably River, but if she's the only water, where's Pond? My guess is that Amy rewrites what we've seen in the forest -- saving River from dying physically and so preventing her "data ghost" from having to be uploaded into the data core. Or something.

Time to visit the ear doctor. It is most certainly "my thief", not thing. (and you can double check on closed captioning).

Interesting and might mean seeing David Tennant & Catherine Tate from that episode at least in archive footage. Of course, that might mean someone would have to cross their time line and I'm guessing that someone will be Amy.

Very interesting postulation, that could be quite fun, seeing our current gang lurking in the background and cut into some of those scenes ala "More Troubles with Tribbles"

A friend in another forum said this:

The doctor is having the best mid life crisis ever. He has a young chick, a Mrs. Robinson, and his hotrod turned into a hot chick.

That about says it all. :)
