Spoilers 31st/32nd Century Ships Revealed

Honestly I think they might be going kinda overboard with the "magical technology" in the 32nd century.

The first time we see the interior of a Starfleet ship (other than Discovery) I'm almost afraid of what we'll find. Will they still have anything even remotely recognizable, like a bridge, turbolift system, crew quarters, mess hall, computer interface, etc.? Will we even be able to relate to it at all?

As beautiful as these ships are...I don't know if I'd want to serve in a Starfleet where the ships seem to all be made of light!

I'd imagine it'll look much like Starfleet Headquarters.

We saw the inside of one last week. It was the Discovery corridor painted green:lol:

Are there any good images of the ships Ni'Var sent to help Burnham during the finale last season? I could never get a decent screencap.

My going theory on their ships is that the science ones are based on Vulcan designs, while the sexy/ tactical/ ass-kicking ones are based on Romulan ones. The T'Pau made me get all misty eyed.

About the consistency (or lack there of) adding numbers after a ship is replaced (or refitted in Discovery's case)...both the Defiant in DS9 and the Delta Flyer replacements should have had an A after the registry, since the registry *numbers* stayed the same, am not mistaken .

The Delta Flyer had Voyager's registry number on it like other ship based shuttles, so no it wouldn't have gotten an -A.
If anything it should have been named Delta Flyer II, like the second TOS Enterprise Galileo.

As for the Defiant, Ronald D. Moore wanted it have an -A, but probably didn't because of budget. They wouldn't be able to use existing shots, and would have to make all new renders of the ship and, and that costs money, and it was pretty late in the season. Remember all the reused battle shots in the last couple episodes.

Watching the latest episode "Stormy Weather", at time stamp 42:17 to 42:25, there is an unusual shape. It is first seen between the two pylons, just below the light. As the camera pans to the station, we can see that this thing is not connected to the dry dock and might be at a distance from it. Is this a new ship?

Other than that, what is seen is old. A couple of Friendship-class ships, a Dresselhaus-type ship, a Merian-class ship, and a Mars-class ship are seen near the dry dock, along with worker bees and other auxiliary craft.

The Star Trek Encyclopedia reports it was listed in scripts as the Delta Flyer II. And until I just went hunting for source images I could have sworn the name was updated to "Delta Flyer II" in that curly font on either side of the nose, but apparently not... maybe I'm conflating reality with some fan art.

I don't think they ever updated the model or nose art.

Ergo it was always listed as the "Delta Flyer".

The only way you can tell the difference externally between the Delta Flyer 1 & 2 was the Pop Out Impulse Thrusters on the 2nd Delta Flyer and some upholstry differences on the inside along with 20th century style flight controls in the pilots seat that Tom Paris helped implement.

Ah, no new revelations this time round. I hope we learn the Dresselhaus class name at some point. And I suspect they may not bother to establish which class the USS Janeway was in last week's episode.

We all caught the reference to the Enterprise, right? It's confirmed that there's an Enterprise in the 32nd century.
