24: Live Another Day. Discussion Thread. (Spoilers)

@ Trekker:

At least they gave Audrey an understandable reason to go out for the meeting given the current crisis with the Chinese and her contacts, so it wasn't Kim vs. the cougar random.

The ridiculousness comes from Cheng having the godlike power to know this meeting that was set up five minutes earlier with a person who's a junior aide to someone in the Chinese government that he has no contact with was going to happen, and had time to get there and set up a sniper (not as easy as one assumes) when Audrey had barely just arrived there herself. I get that time is super-compressed on the show, but that was non-existent LA traffic ridiculous.

Good thing the President's Alzheimer's cleared right up after Margot died and in time for this new crisis and his conversation with the Chinese (I know, real Alzheimer's, especially early on, comes and goes, but this is TV Alzheimer's).

Or Jack quitting heroin in one day and not having any withdrawal symptoms? Yes, I know he was withdrawing pretty bad early on, but he more or less "got over it" by the end of the season/day.

Jack got over dying by the end of the day.

Jack Bauer can get over anything by sheer force of will.

In Day 6 he started out by second guessing himself after being in a Chinese prison for nearly two years. He sure got over that quickly.

He was also tortured by Abu Fayed just after being released from the Chinese prison. He got over it in space of about one episode.

And let's not forget that at the beginning of this day, Chloe was being tortured until Jack rescued her. And she seems to have had no lasting side effects, not even the desire to eat or sleep.

She was pretty out of it for a few minutes right after he woke her up. All those drugs they were pumping her full of only took minutes to get over though.

I think it'll a bit of a cheat. I think the storyline comes to an end, and there will be a huge time jump to when they're all back in America for the coda.

the trailer seems to suggest that someone is going to die (coffin draped in American flag) so time jump could cover the flight back to US for funeral. Jack? Heller? Audrey? Kate? :-/

I would be disappointed if it was Jack who died. But looking at it, it is the only way Jack would ever truly be free of "duty." Since he can't ever seem to say no to helping America out against terrorists.

I saw an unconfirmed spoiler that could explain the flag-draped casket. It's easy enough to find, if one were inclined to do so. ;)

Kates husband now that his honor has been restored?

They could cheat and have it be one of the supporting characters. If they were willing to give Edgar a silent clock, maybe Jordan can get a flag.

Could it be Chloe?

now that Day 9 is almost over how do you guys feel it stacks up with the previous seasons? I like this season better than some of the previous season myself. Going to miss 24 (again!) when its over.

I know I'm a little late with this question but this is my favorite season of the series. It was season 5, but this season has been so good and so exciting that I can't wait to see what happens in the finale.

Season 9 I would say was a very solid season but not as good as the heyday of 2-3-5. Maybe fourth best? I haven't seen the later years in forever.

Has anyone seen (or heard of) the India version of 24? It stars Anil Kapoor, who I just have noticed has a major role in Season 8 of the American show as Omar Hassan. I remember him as the host of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' in "Slumdog Millionaire."

After I finish 24 if I'm able to get a hold of the India Version, I am definitely going to give it a shot. It appears to be popular enough to at least secure a second season.

Right now, this is what it all comes down to; everything I've been working for my entire life. I think, at least, last time they told me I was done I thought I was getting a movie. Some stuff is going down and it's high-time we put a stop to all of it. But, will I simply ride off into the sunset never again to interject himself into world affairs? Ha! You guys wouldn't last 18 months. Or will I go down in a blaze of glory? When smoke clears, the dust settles, and the dawn shed light on a new day just remember that I am Jack Bauer and everyday is the longest day of my life.

The following takes place between 10:00 PM and 11:00 AM

Events occur in real... Wait, what?!
