24: Live Another Day. Discussion Thread. (Spoilers)

I guess it's a good thing the Russians after Bauer just happen to be the same people in league with Cheng, otherwise Jack never would've found out the connection.

Loved it when Bauer called Mark Boudreau an idiot in front of the President.

One of the best 24 episodes ever!!

I think it'll a bit of a cheat. I think the storyline comes to an end, and there will be a huge time jump to when they're all back in America for the coda.

Jack's body has transcended the need for food and drink. He is now fueled solely by pure, seething rage.

I just watched 24: Redemption today. I knew it was going to be mostly a prelude for events occurring in Season 7, but I still thought it had some fun moments too. Especially Jack trying to take on the soldiers himself (I thought he was going to make it too).

When I first started watching 24 with Season 1 back in May, I figured I'd probably watch the first season and move on, I never thought I'd have made it this far. With only 2 seasons remaining I'm going to solider on and finish them out, probably by the end of this month.

I hope we get another season (tv movie/something) of 24 because after having been introduced to Jack and his world, I don't think I'm ready to say goodbye yet.

I found it kind of amusing that Tony Todd appeared as a detective back in season 3, and then reappeared as an African general in Redemption. While that sort of thing happened all the time in Trek, it was pretty rare for 24. Can anyone think of any other actors that appeared in two different roles over the course of the series?

Omid Abtahi and Kevin Chapman are the names I recognize off the bat.

Yeah, I thought that was a bit lazy. I suppose you could just say that the only reason the Russian guy put so much pressure on Boudreau about Bauer that day was because he knew Jack was involved in the crisis and wanted him out of the picture so he and Cheng could achieve their mission.

Or did Boudreau contact the Russian guy about Bauer first? I don't recall. If he called the Russian, then yeah, that's a pretty amazing coincidence. But par for the course for this show.

Still, it was a very enjoyable episode.

Good thing the President's Alzheimer's cleared right up after Margot died and in time for this new crisis and his conversation with the Chinese (I know, real Alzheimer's, especially early on, comes and goes, but this is TV Alzheimer's).

I looked it up. Mark signed the forged rendition paperwork and Antol called back a few episodes later to specifically ask Mark about it. So I guess it works even if it's flimsy.

I was very surprised to learn that Cheng and the Russians were working together. A little too convenient. Because before that revelation I was wondering how the hell they could wrap this up in two episodes but now it's clear

And Audrey venturing out of the safety of the Not-White House only to get immediately taken hostage was just really bad. :p

Terri's plot-convenient amnesia bad, Kim's encounter with a cougar bad or CTU fails to establish a perimeter, again, bad?

;)

Or Jack quitting heroin in one day and not having any withdrawal symptoms? Yes, I know he was withdrawing pretty bad early on, but he more or less "got over it" by the end of the season/day.

In season 6 people were out shopping a few hours after the nuke went off.

So was the surprise sniper in the last episode the last of the 24 tropes to check off?
