Nice
That's a beautiful model. Some of these I designed myself, but I got a boost from FuryOfASeraph, one of my trek buddies from the days of Dynaverse.net when Starfleet Command was pretty big. If there's interest I can start uploading them to something like Thingverse.
The Class III Neutronic Fuel carrier is based on the model Thomas Marrone built for STO. Since I love nearly everything from the TMP era of course I had to do one.

My Take (why not?): As the Federation economy was stabilizing thanks to the efforts of Starfleet, more and more neutronic fuel carriers were needed to shuttle larger quantities of fuel across Federation space to support the newer engines and increased traffic. Previously Starfleet relied on classes such as Model 34 C-2, the NC-3 Kobyashi Maru class, and the Akarowasei class. Demand was so high even refitted Tritium-class freighters were reactivated for this purpose. The commercial sector responded with the elegant Lotus-flower class, but Starfleet sought a more utilitarian vessel that could be manufactured in bulk. The simple Class-III utilized the already-approved Miranda-class hull structure, added updated cargo-hauling material from the NC-3 Kobyashi-Maru class. So many of these were manufactured that they remained in service for over a century in various cargo hauling capacities- to the degree that the image of the class replaced the outmoded NC-3 design in the infamous Kobyashi Maru scenario in starfleet command exit exams.
