2022 book releases

I hope it’s carrying on the story set up in the “post credit scene” of his previous discovery novel.
I don't know if that story would make sense in a Discovery novel at this point. It's not relevant to where the television series is today, and there's no place in Season 2 where it would slot in easily. I could see a Strange New Worlds story, though, either on-screen or in a tie-in (novel or comics). I could also see, even further down the timeline, an Original Series novel.

I’m holding out hope that it’s an onscreen SNW story.

I don't want to see SNW pick up leftover Discovery storylines. It's called Strange New Worlds. I don't want that title to be a false promise. If it's just an exercise in rehashing old business, I'll be as disappointed in it as I am in the current Picard season.

I love the new season of Picard so much. So does everyone else I know who watches Trek. So much fun. ‍♂️

I'll have to see how it plays out. Personally I'm just tired of the galaxy, or even universe, is in peril storylines that have dominated Discovery and Picard.

Not every crisis has to have galactic wide repercussions. My hope is SNW is what it's advertised to be. More episodic with a story of the week plot. I don't mind some continuity building and character building. And I think they'll be doing that as well. But it'd be nice to have a live action show that just focuses on a major story of the week and then moves on to the next.

Yeah, I think that's everything, unless you want to include the TP reprint of the Rios centered Picard novel from last year, which I think is due out in June. And damn, when you see them all listed together like that, it really emphasizes how few books there are coming up.

Is this because of the global paper shortage?

Is this because of the global paper shortage?
I think that was the reason cited for some of the novels being postponed, like Picard Second Self, which was supposed to be out in May but will now be out in September, or TOS Harm's Way, which was originally scheduled earlier than the currently scheduled December release date.

I had to wait along time to get a mystery novel I ordered it in January and didn't get it until a few days ago.Due to the paper shortages. It happened to me last year when I ordered Andy Weir's Project Hail Mary novel too. It was about 3 months before I finally got it too.

That one only shows already released works, though? Although I'm presuming you meant to link this one?

TBH, I actually prefer @ryan123450 's page, since you can see just the novels all at a glance, rather than having to wade through the entries for new episodes, calendars, games, etc.

You know it's been too long of a day when you read that sentence and your first thought is "why would you buy a book not knowing what it was?". Then you realize after a second that "mystery" refers to the genre, and you do this -> :brickwall:

I'm sure there's probably a service that picks out books for you based on your tastes and the opinions of expert curators and sends them to you sight-unseen. I mean, if you can do it for clothes...

If there isn't such a service, I want two percent gross from whoever makes it happen.

No, I googled it, there are many such things. Oh, well, I guess I need to keep looking for my get-rich-quick scheme.
