2016 MLB Regular Season - It's an Even Year...

Keith Hernandez is the worst broadcaster in the history of broadcasting. The reason, he's both stupid and dumb.

I was talking with a friend of mine who works in the Chicago-area media, and he's been told that the White Sox are quietly trying to nudge Harrelson out the door...

Buck Martinez as a play by play guy is right there.

I'll admit that I have a soft spot for Martinez as a color guy because I loved playing the Triple Play games on PlayStation as a teenager, but holy balls does he suck at play-by-play. Talk about a guy who uses twenty words when five would suffice.

I really am a big fan of Matt Vasgersian, though.

Fun fact: Tim McCarver has an album. Of music. As in songs. That he sings.

Now think about that and try to sleep tonight.

Now go a year without posting that.

Edit: I should say two years, since you feel compelled to remind us of that on an annual basis.

I had the same games for the PC.

The current combination of Martinez and former plug Pat Tabler on Sportsnet is brutal, so much so I readily changed the channel when I found the Jays/Red Sox was also on FOX. I'll be the first to admit I don't know baseball as well as I know other sports, but they don't teach me anything and they and the majority of their Sportsnet seem to be stiffs for the ownership, who own both the team and Sportsnet.

Cubs fans must still be sleeping off the news, but they clinched the division last night. Team just looks like it's their year, and has from the start. World Series or bust?

The Cubs backed into the Division crown, but pulled off a come from behind win today, mostly with kids.

As far as the playoffs, I'm worried about the starting pitching after Lester and Hendricks, and they might have to use Heyward as a defensive replacement if they want to score runs.

Outside of that, all their problems are good ones, with a lot of great options for the post-season roster.

Sandy Alderson says Jacob deGrom is being shut down for the year and is likely to have ulnar nerve surgery on his pitching elbow.

The Mets ruin another young pitcher, and yet they refuse to accept that maybe, just maybe, there's something seriously wrong with their medical staff.
