Gadot looks comfortably close to Cavill and Affleck in height. IMDb says they're 5'10", 6'1", and 6'3.5" respectively. Although the costume's wedge heels are surely meant to make her seem taller.

It looks enough like Wonder Woman to be recognizable, but is getting away from the flag-draped look for something more classical.

Hate to say it, but it's probably the best WW outfit we could have gotten under present circumstances.

The classic outfit was a product of its time (World War II). Diana recognized in America the heir of classical Greek civilization, so of course she dons an outfit drenched in the colors of that country. This Diana's coming to Man's World in a time when even Americans are strongly doubting a) that the USA are still the world's "Good Guys" b) that the USA ever WERE the Good Guys and c) if there even is such a thing as Good Guys to begin with. So no red-white-and-blue. And since everybody was comparing Xena: Warrior Princess to Wonder Woman anyway...

The idea of WW "putting on the colors of the county she was visiting" always seemed like a pretty weak explanation for the original costume to me. I far prefer the idea of her visiting our world in (what at least looks like) her own clothing and armor.

And she does still have the big giant eagle on her chest, after all. Can't get much more American than that.

I wondered if maybe this is her initial look and later on she'll adopt brighter/more primary colors, perhaps inspired by Superman. But then I remembered this version of Superman is in pretty drab colors himself.

I like WW's outfit for the upcoming film. This warrior costume has most of the elements if not the colors of her comic book suit. Maybe her armored breastplate should be shinier, and yes the lasso should be gold.
Whatever! Gal Gadot looks fantastic. I think she'll impress everyone as Wonder Woman. And Marvel has no answer to her.

It's certainly a whole lot better than this:

I mean, seriously. I still have no idea WHAT they were thinking with that costume (and that's one of the better images I could find of it!)

And Marvel has no answer to her.

Why would they need to answer? Marvel is ten times ahead of DC when it comes to movies and they have also a giant pool of female characters to choose from if they ever wanted to do a female superhero as a central character.

They have She-Hulk, Storm, Sue Richards, Black Widow etc.

Black Widow is rumored to get her standalone movie sometime after Avengers 2 and she/Scarlett Johanssen is one of the breakout Marvel movie characters.

Granted, they may not be the perceived female icons of superhero comics the way Wonder Woman is but Marvel still has a boatload of options if they wanted.

Gadot looks awesome and stunning in that shot, every bit as i imagined. Now all she needs is to pull it off in the acting department (not overly worried) and to get a good script for her (that can go 50/50) so she has something to act in instead of being a pretty gal between two alpha males.

Really looking forward to it and i hope it's the kickstart for DC to get their own movie line going with success. I am a Marvel man but a good movie is a good movie no matter the company/universe.

With a more natural skin tone, you can kind of get a better idea of the real color I think:

I like it. Respectful without being slavish. Gadot looks good in it. She obviously toned up a little bit. A part of me would prefer a litle more muscle, but Amazons are supposed to be stronger than us naturally anyway, so it's not that big of a thing.

While I was okay with MoS as a Superman film I still don't care for the costume--it could have been better. There was enough in MoS that I'm interested to see the next film. I'm reserving judgement on the new Batman costume until I see the whole thing. The photomanip (or whatever it was) upthread of the costume under the cape and cowl on display doesn't really move me one way or the other, but I don't care for the flattish Bat symbol. It looks very Dark Knight Returns.

Wonder Woman looks fine (she's bulked up some), but again with the too dour colours which I find disappointing. The high heeled look ridiculous just as they also looked ridiculous on Nolan's Catwoman.

I understand there was a clip of Cavill and Afleck squaring off or something--any chance others who didn't go to the con might get to see this?

Gadot's costume is okay. It could have been worse. I kind of hope that it becomes more modernized later on if she takes up residence outside of Themyscira (a bit more color).

I laugh when people always use extremes to make a point, as if there's no middle ground. I said nothing about day-glo colours, but one can still have colour without being extreme.

Every colour has an infinite number of shades. There are certainly more than two options.

And Marvel has no answer to her.

They have She-Hulk, Storm, Sue Richards, Black Widow etc.

And DC doesn't? Off the top of my head DC has
Vixen: Justice League
Zatanna: Justice League
Element Woman: Justice League
Supergirl
Huntress: World's Finest
Power Girl: World's Finest
Catwoman: JLA
Stargirl: JLA
Raven:TT
Starfire: TT
Batgirl
Black Canary and the Bird's of Prey

Marvel has very few high profile characters who are not derivative of their male counterparts. Storm just got a solo book (finally). Carol Danvers (Capt Marvel) and Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) have solo books. Lastly I think there is still an all female team of X-Men.

In terms of representation DC is better than Marvel, but neither do women as well as they are capable of.

We can always hope. With how Marvel has neglected it's expansive female cast in the X-Men franchise, I don't hold much hope women will play more than supporting roles in the upcoming movies.

Yeah I agree it could have a bit more color in it. And I suspect that it does, once we see it in some more natural lighting.
