‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

^ Surprised by the lack of negativity in the comments to that story.

Give it a couple of hours.
I'm sure there will be several "Why BvS ticket sales aren't as good as they seem!" articles with an undertitle of "Also, Zack Snyder kicks a puppy!" for good measure ...

No, this is the internet: it's "rapes", not "kicks".

:sigh:

That's crazy!
Is pre-ordering tickets this early becoming a thing? I usually worry about that the week of, and have never had an issue (could be just the city I'm in, though)

That was pretty cool. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but this Batmobile is starting to grow on me.
I always love to fan's reactions when the star pops up in these kinds of videos.

So if this blows the doors off the box office - i wonder how the 'DC films are too dark' narrative will be remade?

Well, to be fair, they DO have their secret weapon of Batman in the movie (the last trailer really focuses on him as well). He's box office bullet proof, especially thanks to the Nolan movies that are still remembered fondly (and, hey, Batman's awesome regardless!). And Batman lives in a world of dark, it works for him.

More telling would have been Man of Steel 2 or any movie that doesn't have Batman in it to see people's reaction to a non-Batman darker movie. It's telling that Man of Steel 2 was sidelined for Batman's inclusion so quickly.

Yeah, I think Suicide Squad would actually be a better indicator of the overall reaction to the DCEU movies, but that does still have Joker and at least a cameo by Batman, so that might not work either. Maybe Wonder Woman would work better since as far as we know it will be the first Batman free DCEU movie.

Maybe they'll stick Bruce Wayne's Great Grandfather into the movie as a proto-Batman, using Bob Kane's original design for The Bat-Man:

Well yeah, it's Batman, but I really do think it's the idea of Batman fighting Superman that people are responding to most with this movie, more than just the idea of seeing Batman himself. Especially since this isn't an origin movie or something based entirely in the Batman world, and since it also features an entirely new actor in the role.

The thing writes itself:

"The Atom has a tear in his suit which reverses his miniaturization and turns him into a giant.
Only Batman can hem his trousers and return him to regular size!"
He's the tailor Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now.
