‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

Feels like hollow marketing to me. Either the violence means something to the story, in which case the Cinema version is apparently being hamstringed for the sake of the kiddies or it's completely superfluous and this is just a ploy to get fans to shell out more money for a 'special' version.
I think it's common practice for action movies to cut a few things to get a wider audience in cinemas, then have an "unrated" version for home release. It's just the reality of the market place.

My guess is that Batman gets a lot more brutal and violent than we've probably ever seen him before. Which explains all the talk of this being another "controversial" movie like MOS.
There are all sorts of potential sources of violence, not least Lex and Doomsday. Also, horrible things probably happen in the Knightmare section.

I just remember the magic of seeing these movies as a child that still resonates today. When things push the boundaries this far, it's tougher to justify the same happening with the current generation of youngsters.
I still remember being shocked by the scene of Lois being smothered in dirt.

I think it could be similar to Harrison Ford changing Han's response to Leia's "I love you", in ESB, from "I love you too" to "I know." Harrison really got into his character, and the result was much better with many saying the change fits Han more.

With Affleck, being in costume, immersing himself into the role, hopefully he requested changes that better fit his interpretation of Bruce Wayne / Batman.

Affleck rewrote parts of the script while still dressed as Batman

I got a hold of some leaked dialogue that he rewrote. It's powerful stuff.

Alfred: Hey, Bruce? I don't know a lot. You see this? All this shit?
[Throws down the Wayne murder file and points at the dead Robin's costume]
Alfred: It's not your fault.
Bruce: [shrugs] Yeah, I know that.
Alfred: Look at me, son. It's not your fault.
Bruce: [nods] I know.
Alfred: No. It's not your fault.
Bruce: I know
Alfred: No, no, you don't. It's not your fault.
Bruce: Alright.
Alfred: It's not your fault.
Bruce: Don't fuck with me, Alfred, not you!
Alfred: It's not your fault. It's not your fault.
[Bruce breaks into sobs. They hug]
Alfred: Fuck Gotham, ok?

Haha, that works!
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I just enjoy seeing comments for all superhero stuff on what details are appreciated in bringing these characters to life and make them believable when there's so much fantastical there anyways. It's like Nolan's Batman films, he tried so hard to ground everything in reality, when, come on, it's a dude dressed as a bat that punches clowns, getting lost in the details is almost more distracting than not.

I bought my ticket for Thursday at 6:00pm. Nearly all Friday and Saturday showings are sold out in my area.
