And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Not sure about Earth Final Conflict. But it's been a very long time since I saw the show. Bewitched did okay with switching Darrin's but I am more a DIck York man myself. Granted not sure if it also counts because Samantha was the main star.
Started with a boring 35 year old Cop, pissed off that Aliens murdered his wife who was lozenged into a vat and preserved, who was replaced with the best bad guy's magic half alien baby with super powers who grew to maturity over night and instantly went to the mall and got frosted tips, who sacrificed himself to save the world, just like Jesus, who was replaced by a girl version of Tony Stark who looked a lot like my mum, blond and booby.

3 leads.

I liked that change also but we get back to my Darrin situation in that Ted Danson was the main star. If he had left I wonder if they would have made Woody as the new lead and then have him and Rebecca fall for each other.
Shelley Long and Ted Danson were co-leads, he was not the main star or more important than her (also shown in how they were credited, they shared a screen in the opening, his name was on the left left but hers at the top so that they were on equal footing, he came first reading from left to right but she came first reading from top to bottom) and Danson himself is on record saying that she carried the show in the beginning and put it on the map when he didn't really know what he was doing and he also credits her with being cast in the first place, they were paired early during casting when they tried out different Sam's and Diane's and according to him Long was so good she basically carried Danson through the final auditions.

Shelley Long announcing she was leaving send shockwaves through Hollywood and made the cast very worried the show would not survive without her.

I was only 12 when Shelley Long left Cheers but I remember how big it was in pop culture. There was a memorable TV Guide cover when Diane departed the series.

Euphoria is officially done.

Fans didn't want to wait until 2039 for season 4.

lol in a way its about time because of many reasons like

1 some of the cast members became much more famous now than ever before
2 there was rumors about the zendaya vs sydney feuds
3 euphoria fans does not want to wait more years for a new season to come out
4 couple of cast members passed away

How big of a deal was MASH losing their No. 2 and No. 3 so early in its run in Wayne Rogers and McLean Stevenson? And they survived just fine.
Actually seems to have done it a great deal of good. Potter and Hunnicutt were much more rounded characters. So, for that matter, was Winchester, when Burns was written out. The characters who lasted the entire run did so because they evolved.

And it provided the premise for a non-sitcom spinoff, Trapper John, MD.

As to Euphoria, never heard of it, and looking at the Wikipedia article, that's probably just as well.

I remember on Benson how Clinton Endicott III was a much better improvement on this other guy they had before him on the show.

He was obviously fired, if he wasn't he'd still be under contract and there'd be no discussions about his return.

There are three reasons why Hardy could be negotiating:

1) He is not yet contracted for season 3. [Note: Reports are that he only had a contract for 2 seasons.]

2) The studio has not yet picked up his option for season 3 (meaning Hardy was contracted for a third season but the studio still gets to decide whether or not to exercise that option).

3) Hardy, as a star of a successful show, is refusing to honor the contract unless the terms are adjusted (such as for higher pay or greater creative control). [This is a risky move (as he could be sued for breach of contract), but it does happen in this industry. The most infamous example is David Caruso of NYPD Blue (as he got fired for trying to renegotiate).]

Babylon 5, Law and Order, Doctor Who, Sea Quest, Earth Final Conflict and Blake's Seven?

There's a niche topic, shows that carried on successfully after the titular character left.

The other one that springs to mind is Taggart which managed to continue for fifteen or so years after Mark McManus died!
