It has an A-list cast, so... fingers crossed.
It's true. We don't 'need' this. But studios are desperate to ensure they have a 'sure thing' meaning people that may be already invested in the franchise(however much a 'franchise' Beetlejuice was to begin with is up to interpretation).
Disney is a great example of rehashing their own content by redoing the animated films into live action....they're just not doing it well.
This is just the beginning of this....

But I love the original movie so much and it's a perfect example to me of catching lightning in a bottle and that whole cast they had was perfect and the film was perfect. I don't think they could top that in any kind of sequel.

I loved Jenna Ortega in Wednesday and I love the idea of her as Lydia's daughter, so that alone makes me think the sequel could be great.
