Chakotay and Seska (Spoilers if you haven't watched S2)

What would have made him more interesting is if now and then after they got exhausted form trying to kill each other, they got more exhausted from trying to...

Green Arrow's Apprentice "Speedy" (The kid in Red on Arrow) made love to a super villainess, who kept the baby and then dumped it on his door step at teen Titans Tower because Johnny law was on her tail quite hard after she nuked some tinpot dictatorship for shits and giggles in the Middle east.

The point is that "people" random people keep trying to kill the baby, toddler, precocious 8 year old, because of who her mother is, a nuclear terrorist.

Not only will the Maquis on board Voyager consider killing Chakotay or/and the baby, but they'll at the very least de-elect (impeach seems wrong. Suburgatory used the term "Exit beating".) Chakotay as the Maquis figurehead in the command staff... If Chakotay does not speak for the Maquis, doesn't that remove the only prerequisite he had to stand up as the First officer, to represent their issues to the Star Fleet Officer acting like a prissy god.

It's from an RPG, so it was ongoing fanfiction :)

I wonder if Kirsten Beyer could be persuaded to do a novel about the triplets growing up and coming back to find their parents and who they really are.

Maybe someone could write a letter. I hear Star Trek is very positive towards story ideas from fans.

Season 3 was the worst season, IMO. Voyager is the only Trek where I was actually watching new episodes as they came out for the entire run. Season 3 is the only one that almost made me quit the show.

It's too bad Seska was
. Martha Hackett could have made one or two appearances each season. Finally, her real
would be in Season 7, when Seven starts getting cozy with Chakotay.

Chakotay takes Seven in a loving embrace, they kiss. The door flies off its tracks and Seska is standing there, seething. "Get away from him, you BITCH!"

Chak replicates popcorn to enjoy a ten minute catfight.

I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen two women fighting over a man before in real life.

On Springer, sure, but those people get airfair and a night or two in a three star hotel, so they are expected to put on a show that makes their trailer park look like a circus.

Oh yes they are! That is why Janeway is no longer dead!

I thought it was because a certain someone offered to have the author's baby. ;)

Yes I am sure that swayed them, it swayed them all! And not just the Kirsten, but the publishers and the editors too!

What!? She died? Well thank the universe that mistake was corrected. What idiot decided to kill her?

Peter David.

Thankfully this is but a footnote now in the Captain's glorious story and in the end fandom was even served a beloved ship on a silver platter which I suspect was a peace offering on the part of the Treklit powers that be. A penance. For their grievous error.

Not uncommon in high school. But it's all a game then, the poor girls don't realize all the prizes are the same.

Yeah. A stupid dork.

Really? Out of the first three seasons, it's my favourite so far. We all have different tastes I guess.

It did get better in the last third of the season. Just in the middle of it there was this drag of terrible to mediocre episodes that either had incredibly stupid premises or were disposable retreads. Between The Chute and Before & After the only good episode was Future's End, and almost half of the worst episodes in the entire series occur in that time frame. False Profits, Q And The Grey, Favorite Son.

The Q and the Grey is completely tedious.

They could have at least set it during something less overused than the american civil war or the american anything. OR how about being creative like DS9 was with the Bell Riots, setting it in our the viewers future but VOY's past. You know, actual science fiction rather than exhausted retread.

Was it the Ed Wood approach?

They looked through the props/wardrobe department, and said "Do we have more civil stuff or more WWII stuff?"

My understanding is that killing Janeway was an editorial decision. Peter David was hired to write that book, but killing Janeway was never his decision, and in fact, he intentionally did it in such a way to leave a loophole to bring her back with Q's involvement.

Yeah I was going to say that, I'm sure it was just that they had a bunch of wardrobe and props and didn't have to invent anything.

This is why space nazis are inspired, you get to use all those old uniforms and tell a different story.

I believe he said at at least one con that he loved it, or he expressed enjoyment in doing it.

The whole book reads like someone who is exhausted with that particular fictional universe and is half taking the piss, half sleep writing.
