I'm not defending him, I just would prefer to see it in its context (as oppose to 'Goyer attacks She-Hulk!) and I simply don't think it's worth getting upset over. A lot of great humour stems from parody and satire. I'm not saying that this falls into that bracket, but I think there are more important things to worry about.

I swear, the longer I live the more thin-skinned people get.

I remember a "comedian" several years back riffing on the subject. He said something like, "If I say Hillary has a big butt will I have to prove it in a court of law?"

If you think that nerd joke was offensive, I recommmend staying far, far away from Adam Carolla. Your head might just explode.

This is true. So Goyer made a joke about a comic book character that someone else doesn't think is funny? That shouldn't be an problem of any kind, for anyone.

The idea that Goyer requires any "defense" for the joke is a laugh in itself.

Oh, if I actually listened I wouldn't feel duty-bound to criticize whatever he said.

Batman Vs Superman would have been fine. I am not against this title though.

I don't think the issue is so much that he made of fun of a female comic book character, but that a lot of people, including myself, think he did so in a crude and sexist manner. You really can't get away with saying that kind of stuff these days. At this point saying stuff like that and then being confused or mad if people react the way they have is kind of like being confused or mad that the sun rises in the morning.

Is Goyer confused or mad? The nerdrage hasn't touched him, has it?

Most people will have forgotten about this by the time the film comes out. She-Hulk was created for copyright reasons, not exactly one of Stan's greatest characters. Others did more with the character, especially when they took a humorous approach.

Is Martian Manhunter the new Aquaman?

Copyright reasons? Are you sure you're not thinking of Spider-Woman?

Story goes they thought the TV people might try a "She-Hulk" type character on the Hulk TV show in the 70s. So Marvel cut them off at the pass and came up with a She-Hulk comic first.

Yeah, Spider Woman had a similar reason for being created. Copyright is what gives us series featuring Captain Marvel and Superboy every couple of years.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?

Was there never any justice before this movie? Justice sounds so vague. What a terrible title. C'mon Worlds Finest sounds SOOOOOOOOOO much better. There would still be plenty of ways to work the Batman v Superman angle into the marketing. It's not like Man of Steel had to have superman in the title, or the Dark Knight had to have Batman in the title. The public would've figured it out.

World's Finest wouldn't have worked given the story which we don't know but since we have Batman v Superman there, no.

Dawn of Justice isn't need, Batman Vs Superman works given what they have given us. S & Bat logo.

Many assume the "Justice" here is the Justice League.

What do you mean it wouldn't have worked given the story? Do you think that Batman and Superman are going to fight the ENTIRE movie? Do you really think this is a movie like Godzilla vs King Kong, that they are going at it the entire movie?

Especially when there's Lex Luthor in it?

It's going to start with Bats and Supes "fighting"--though, Supes should just snap Bats's neck, it worked well in the first movie--and then they are going to have a good reason to team up, they are going to fight the real bad guy, and then, "Hey, we should TOTALLY team up like ALL the time, and with some other people, we could even give ourselves a team name..." And black out.

If anything, Batman v Superman is misleading.

^ It seems they are making Superman the "enemy" and then he might have to team up to take on the real threat.

But by all means call it "World's Finest".
