I was skeptical of the Latino Review release date rumor, but Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter tweets:

    Sweet!

At this point I'm just lowering my expectations about superhero movies from Warner Bros. Studios. Heck, even their recent animated DVD movies have been weak since Bruce Timm stopped producing them and they started adapting The New 52.

This makes sense. I can get behind this. Especially if Snyder & WB have enough foresight to be planting seeds in Batman/Superman which will obviously lead directly into Justice League.

Certainly seems that way from the casting of some characters who will have small roles in Batman/Superman that will be expanded in Justice League. In fact, there was a rumor a little while ago that Batman/Superman will end on a cliffhanger that leads directly into Justice League.

I'd be game for this. I think I'd be a lot less critical & harsh on WB's plans for the franchise if this turns out to be true.

Snyder and crew are going to be working their asses off for the next few years. Big task they've taken on.

I'm actually pretty excited about this. To me, this shows that at least they finally have some sort of plan, and aren't just going to throw stuff out there willy-nilly because Marvel's kicking their ass.

One of the WSJ stories reported that Diane Nelson, the President of DC Entertainment, was formerly reporting to four different execs within WB. There's been a streamlining of the corporate structure and she now reports directly to Kevin Tsujihara, who took over as the CEO of WB last year.

WB has a whole bunch of pilots in contention for next season on television, all of which are looking good to be ordered to series, and they're now making some big moves on the feature side. Hopefully things continue to move in a positive direction.

Eh, I think we've waited long enough already. And it's still not coming out for another 4 years.

Agreed. I was a huge fan of Snyder's direction on MOS, although I DO think it would be smart for him to veer away from the moody and poetic style of MOS for the next two films and make them a bit more straightforward and plot-driven like TDK or Winter Soldier.

Since not everyone responded well to the moody thing in the last movie (and I don't want to hear more complaints about there "not being enough story").

Well given how long it's taking to make MOS2, I think the 2018 for JL is probably the more likely one.

If the reports are right, they delayed Superman/Batman to facilitate back-to-back filming with Justice League to set up a one-two 2016/2017 punch for the releases.

Not a decent enough reason to justify getting this so soon. We waited a long time for The Avengers, too, but that didn't force Marvel to rush that movie.

So why not make this a Justice League movie to begin with if they've already cast Wonder Woman and Cyborg?

Why not make Iron Man 2 an Avengers movie to begin with if it already featured Nick Fury and Black Widow? No harm in easing into things. Doing a series gives you the luxury to set things up in advance, to establish a character in a supporting role before moving them into the spotlight.

They should hold off the JL movie until 2018....What better way to recognize the 10th anniversary of the MCU?

I'm not at all surprised by the JL announcement, but I am a little by the announcement of director. I was thinking that since JL was the start of a new series, we'd get a new director. I liked MoS, so based on that I don't have a problem with Snyder directing JL, but Batman vs Superman will probably have a bigger impact on my opinion.
