You're exactly right. The show needs to stand on its own. You wouldn't want Iron Man to swoop in and save the day in a Captain America movie, or Thor to beat the bad guy in an Iron Man movie. The focus -- and the victory -- belongs to whoever has their name in the title.

For example, when Sif showed up, the SHIELD team didn't become supporting players in her story -- she was a supporting player in theirs. Her presence and her conflict with Lorelei served the arcs of the AoS characters -- Coulson's search for answers about the alien, Ward and May's relationship issues coming to a head, etc. It's the same as in any comics crossover -- if Daredevil shows up in an issue of Spider-Man, the focus of the issue is still going to be on Spidey and his storylines. If it's a 2-parter that then continues in an issue of Daredevil, then that issue will be more from Ol' Hornhead's perspective and deal with his ongoing plot and character threads. Those titles are there for a reason.

Nova was one of the first characters I came in on with issue 1, of course back then it was harder to catch up with extended histories and reboots then it is now.

It might be unnecessary but I think having Iron Man buzz the Bus or something would be fun.

Or what about Pepper Pots in her "Rescue" armour?

If she'll do Glee, she'll do most anything.

Yeah, usually things got wrapped up in Marvel Two-In-One. :rommie: I loved Nova for a while, but then I lost interest when Carmine Infantino took over the art. I never warmed up to his stuff.

I connected to the book right away. It had a standalone origin with a brand-new hero in a format that hearkened back to the origins of the Marvel Universe, and it was by Wolfman and the Buscemas. In those days, with all the variety and innovation going on at the House of Ideas, a retro hero was a prime addition to the tapestry.

He was probably the first superhero I came in on with issue number 1. There were a lot of characters that I was there with mostly from the beginning in those days, but most of them were horror related.

I wouldn't mind having crossover characters from the movies. The movies don't really interest me much, but I'd be fine with having the characters drop in.

Pepper's appearance would be neat. For some reason I think her episode will involve Quinn.

Ward "I said I wanted to see Stark."

Pepper "He's offworld, so you'll have to deal with me."

Ward "What do you mean offworld?"

I think I remember an article quoting her as saying her son was thrilled to see her on-set for Iron Man 3 wearing at least part of the armour...?

    Hardly the exception.

Most young boys are thrilled to see her partially clothed.

Still though, Agents of SHIELD would be a useful avenue for filling in story details in between the films.

Getting back in context, wasn't Redford quoted as saying that his grandchildren were an influence on him becoming interested in working with/for Marvel on at least one project as well...

If the ratings get low enough you'll see someone who can be CGI'd or special MCU guest star going for a rate they can afford.

Hell, they've already done the latter with Sif.

^Sure, they'll bring in guest stars if they have a reason to. Nobody's denying that. But the point is that they will be guest stars. They will be there to support the show's leads, not swoop in and save the day themselves. A, because it's not their series, and B, because that kind of deus ex machina ending would be bad writing.

Hopefully he get caught in an explosion and half of his face gets blown off as well as getting a little more burnt...

Out of context, that's sick, but you see where I'm going.

I don't feel that characters in an adaptation need to look like their comics originals. I don't hear anyone clamoring to put Hawkeye in a weird purple butterfly mask or Electro in that stupid yellow star thingy. I don't find the Deathlok design in the comics all that appealing, and in retrospect it feels too similar to the Borg. I'm fine letting J. August Richards just keep looking like J. August Richards.

To be fair, Hawkeye and Electro movie versions at least follow their ultimate look. Deathlok only has his iconic look. Of course, with modernization styles change but Deathlok always had that definitive look.

    :borg: =/= :scream:
