Hmm, they mentioned that Asgardian Berserker business in Ward.

I'll bet Trekker is jealous of Ward right now. I know I am. ;)

Not the best episode but getting a more direct crossover with the movies through the inclusion of Sif was a real treat.

Satine did a pretty good job in her role and handled the formalized Asgardian speech pretty well. Alexander could have used a bit of polishing in that department.

And good on them for keeping Skye bedridden for the episode and not having her up and around right away.

    Good episode.

Fitz - "I'll forgive you". He'd make such a good bad guy!
Lorelei - "Odin" wanted her back alive. Lol. I do appreciate that though. Presumably not the last we've heard from Lorelei.
Ward - Now he's been possessed by Asgardian stuff twice. Hope for his sake a trip to Valhalla isn't up next.

May - whoa, that was a surprising ending

Sorry, my feed cut out at the end. May was picking up the phone after eavesdropping on Coulson. What did she say?

    He knows

ETA: More specifically, it was a personal log that seemed directed to someone else as well.

ETA2: Completely different topic, but I hope Lorelei is in Thor 3. That little Loki/Odin reference and the end was great and I hope they follow through.

I wish I'd been sure enough to call it before, but I was getting a wee bit suspicious about how much May has been trying to get something out of Coulson lately....

Coulson twice acknowledges that men died for the secret, so for all of my earlier posts, I'm good with the fact that he says this is important.

Despite being fully briefed on Lorelei's powers, they send male agents in. Not so good with that.

Despite being fully briefed on Lorelei's powers, and despite holding an "Icer," Ward doesn't just shoot her. Not so good with that, but I guess they needed a plot.

When SHIELD hits the Vegas hotel room, the voices of the helmeted agents calling "All clear!" were female. I'm good with that.

Coulson telling Sky that she has something alien in her. If it was a blood transfusion from Sif, would he be so concerned? Just a bit of perspective. The issue is that Coulson doesn't know just how alien it was, not just that it was alien.

    Thanks!

And Coulson is now keeping secrets from the team.

I think this was the most fun episode of the show thus far, if only for having a movie character with super powers fighting a super villain with super powers. I would love for them to have more B list movie characters on the show like this.

Yes, it was incredibly stupid and plot-convenient for them to send in male agents after Lorelai. I assumed once she told the team that she can control any men it would have been an all ladies mission.... but then she couldn't have taken over the plane... :p

This episode was a lot of fun and I enjoyed everything Asgard-related. Jaimie Alexander didn't disappoint as Sif and she had a good presence here. Elena Satine was even better as Lorelei. Her character was a blast and a really fun villain. We actually got some good references to the Thor movie for a change and not the usual forced stuff. Haldor is Odin's other son, right?

Fitz under Lorelei's spell and Coulson acting as though he were under his spell was pretty funny. I enjoyed Simmons standing up to Coulson about wanting to use the drug.

Much better use of the Agent Sitwell character here.

Some good action although some of the green screen shots were absolutely atrocious.

I would have rated the episode even higher if it wasn't for the revelation that Ward is really in love with Skye. Everyone LOVES Skye...that's what the writers are desperately trying to convince everyone of. They actually have a decent thing going with Ward and May but they're determined to shove Ward and Skye down everyone's throat, no matter how contrived and irritating it is.

Add to that Coulson's embarrassing hissy fit against Shield. Awww...poor baby! This coming from the man who murdered two guards to rescue his special snowflake. At least he acknowledge that men laid down their lives to keep the drug from getting out so maybe he's feeling some guilt about murdering those guards last week. Not that he's ever going to be held accountable for that. Coulson is no different than the organization he rails against. Skye's one good scene was telling Coulson to get the fuck over himself.

And NOW they whip out the night night guns again? Where were they last week?

Even when he has a night night gun, stupid Ward doesn't shoot Lorelei and just allos her to control him.

The revelation that May is keeping an eye on him is intriguing though.

He'd presumably be more able to ask someone what would happen in that situation.

However, given the thrust of his speech, I think his concern is more that there is alien goo inside his veins rather than anything else, so I'm no longer so sure the alien was alive.

That being said, they confirmed it was the Kree ... or the Centaurians ... or the Frost Giants :p

Yeah, we were all listening carefully to that list, weren't we? One question answered, apparently there is no license issue with the Kree.

I was glad he mentioned that too.

And it adds to his logic behind pushing the other team members away from the truth about the drug.

Of course, May already knows, so, who knows where they're going with that storyline.

I think one of Sif's first lines when she landed was "your world is in grave danger" or something along those lines. The second I heard that, I thought to myself "this is exactly what everyone has wanted from this show since day 1".

I hope someone somewhere has a list of all the names Sif rattled off.

That said, I did appreciate that line. Nice job of involving Sif in the current continuity of the show, so it didn't look like the Sif episode was a complete standalone that could have appeared at any time during the season.

    Just give me a sec...
    ETA:
Might not be spelling them correctly...
Antidites, Levians, Faradose, Kree, Saugs, Centaurians, Frost Giants

ETA2: "Antidites" must be Interdites. "Saugs" is probably Sarks. "Faradose" must be Pheragots

May is just reporting to Fury for Coulson's own good, it's nothing evil.

I wonder if Fury being mysteriously off the grid is a set up for Winter Soldier?

All through the episode I kept thinking, "how did she not get signed to play Wonder Woman?"

I'd guess some sort of fuzziness with her being Sif for Marvel. But, yeah, she would have been an utterly perfect Wonder Woman.

    *Sigh*

I didn't watch this episode either. I'm now three episodes behind on the series. They're all still on my DVR, maybe I'll get around to watching them this week while I'm on vacation. This is one I did want to watch due to Alexander/Sif being in it. But before I watch this one I felt I should watch the other episodes and, bah.

I think the Olympics break, or whatever the reason was behind that period of new episodes and the most recent return, caused be to lose interest in the series. Nothing really there to hold me on to it, I guess.

But, again, I may give these episodes a watch. They're on the DVR and "locked in" so they won't get deleted. (Though my new DVR's never even flirted with being full.)

Maybe you should avoid the thread until you've caught up?

BTW, I mentioned three blue aliens before because they're the only ones I knew were Marvel, but I missed the Levians (who I'm not sure are blue) and the Sarks.

Eh, Spoilers aren't too big of a deal to me, I've already gleemed some things that'll happen.
