I see the benefit of extra time. They were able to include more effects shots into the set, showing off some of the goods. The Birthright Enterprise shot looks really nice.

The DS9 model looks great in HD. Too bad we didn't see any shots of the DS9 set.

Looks sweet! Do find it amazing that we're able to enjoy TNG as if seeing it for the very first time! The colors and production values really stand the test of time.

As I recall, the DS9 sets weren't used very extensively, so while I had the same reaction as you, I can see why they made the choice, since DS9 is part of the big hype around S6 among us Trek fans, so they don't want to spoil it for when the set comes.

Great trailer, even greater to see DS9, and greater still was the deleted Scotty clip, looks like a fun bit that would've added to the ep.

Very excited for many of these eps, especially Frame of Mind and Relics and I will be purchasing the stand-alone of COC. The completist in me (and the one who hates switching discs mid story, especially with all the waste at the beginning of each 'Disc 1' and the incessant language choice requirement) really wishes there were stand-alones of Time's Arrow and Descent even though they're less popular.

All in all, can't wait for this release and STILL WAITING for any news regarding DS9 on blu. The suspense is not healthy for me.

I doubt we'll hear anything about DS9 until months after TNG is done.

Fingers crossed they found all the film elements!

    You and me both.

Rest assured they will have considered / be considering those two-parters.

Looking forward to the season. It'll be interesting to see if I still dislike "A Fistful of Datas". I've only seen it once I remember not liking it much.

Aside from the DS9 footage, I'm still wowed by how great the colors look for S6. As said in another thread, it always had a softer look compared to other seasons and the colors were not quite right (while S7's colors looked better), so it's nice to see that all fixed in HD. June can't come soon enough.

Precisely. S6's softness and color "displacement" was particularly egregious... thankfully the original film negative holds just as much magic as the rest of the series!

I'm so glad in the trailer they showed some of the Dream sequence from Birthright, which is one of my top favorite visual effects moments of the entire series. Also you can tell that there is a lot of just great color here and it's going to look gorgeous. It seemed like Season 4 and 5 focused more on the location shots (And that's fine) but seeing that trailer, I was reminded of the Season 3 trailer, which really wowed me.

As for Chain of Command, I'm planning on getting this disc, and that trailer was haunting. So much silence and just letting the episode tell the story.

So very happy CBS brought these out today. Looking forward to revisiting this season. Also, I know it's not the top Q episode or anything, but I was really, pleasantly surprised how much True Q was featured.

This was brought up in TrekCore's comment section, but there IS a missed opportunity with these releases, and that is extended cuts.

For the solo releases, they should have made extended cuts of the two-parters to add to make them unique from the season set versions on the season set. Because after the novelty of the bonus features wears off, the only difference is the lack of a break in the action.

Yeah I am a bit surprised there isn't another episode like Measure of a Man that had an extended cut.

Unlike MoaM, none of the deleted scenes so far have really added all that much to the story. But, there's no reason why they couldn't add them. They're already modifying the episodes by combining them. It wouldn't hurt to throw in extra bits here and there.

Do we know if the same colorist has been used on Season 6?

I think the difference between MoaM and the standalone deleted scenes we're getting is that MoaM was quite a bit more substantial. Most of the episodes that have had deleted scenes released were only few (often just one) short scene. Whereas MoaM was several minutes that really added to the episode. I'm ecstatic that they've included the deleted scenes in any capacity, it really makes me wish they had done that from the beginning of the project.

That changes with Chain of Command and Birthright. There's quite a significant amount of material that was culled.

The difference with Measure of a Man is that they had a completed workprint of the extended version to use as reference for the reconstruction.
