    The Breen.

I think we could get a really cool look at the Breen in the 23rd century. Back then the Breen could have been a more powerful species and far more active. I loved them on DS9 with the body suits and robotic talking.

No matter where you go, there you are.
You know what'd be refreshing? Is if the next film didn't revolve around having a Bad Guy.

I mean, not going to happen with the current crew in charge. But it'd be refreshing.

Harry Mudd, interstellar drug lord, uses his army of androids (including the Alice series, the Barbara series, the Herman series, the Trudy series, the Maisie series, and particularly the Annabelle series) to establish a chain of brothels throughout the galaxy, known as Mudd's Chicken Ranches.

An improved Venus drug, with no withdrawal symptoms, is surreptitiously distributed through physical encounters with the androids.

The brothels prove so popular that the hotspots of Wrigley's Pleasure Planet and Risa are faced with financial ruin until Kirk decides on his own that Mudd must be stopped.

Note: The Stella series is used as bouncers at the brothels.

Am I the only one who wants Cloud William? Though I suppose he isn't really a villain.

You'd have to include Ron Tracey. Can we stand yet another corrupt high-ranking officer in Starfleet?

...JJ Abrams and his nefarious creation, Lehnze Flaire...

...Data, while scanning the Quadrant for Things That Should Not Be, detects the signature energy pulse of the Lehnze, and the plot could continue around various stomach-churning, eye-rolling, face-palming (thanks to bbjeg for this one) twists and turns until <insert character name here> figures out how to eliminate the Flaire by stacking a variable neutral density filter with a polarizer, or better still, send Abrams into the holodeck program with Piscopo and the "comedy", with no hope of ever getting out...

    ...yeah...like that...

I'd actually like it even more if we do not get any villain. Let's get away from that and do something different. Trek isn't just exclusively about good vs evil.

The "Cloud William" persona is only a guise, though. We could find out that he's the evil mastermind Ee'd Pleb Nasty.

I would love to see Kang, Kor, Koloth, Kruge or Chang in Star Trek XIII. However I feel STID again reduced Klingons to beat'em up fodder. Klingons always seem to be the whipping boys for heroes and villains.

That said I wouldn't mind seeing either:
Arik Soong's descendants and an army or androids.
    Thoalians
    The Gorn
    The Borg
An updated version of the Doomsday Machine. A giant space cone is a little dated.
Or an original villain like Nero was.

No movie like Trek is going to sell without a plotline, you can't have a proper plotline in Trek if there's no bad guy.
What options is there if there's not going to be a bad guy?
What action could there be without a bad guy?

Yeah, I'd love a good story that doesn't revolve around thwarting a villain.

But we'll probably get war with the Klingons instead.

I want the Enterprise caught in the middle of a Borg/Klingon war. I want to see entire worlds being assimilated, huge chunks being torn up from the surface from the POV of someone there when it happens.

Kirk is the new villain. :p

Khan's blood over the course of a year has altered his thinking and behavior and has compromised his command of the Enterprise. The Klingon war has begun and Kirk feeling on top of the world and feeling confident successfully defended various Federation territories, his newly found aggression and intolerance was all too obvious to Spock now and during another brief (albeit avoidable) engagement with the Klingons, Kirk commands the Enterprise to destroy a mysteriously crippled battle cruiser instead of sparing it.

It would have been a chance to demonstrate a token of peace to end the war...

Kirk rationalises his decision that showing mercy to the Klingons who yearn to die to a superior opponent in battle would be most illogical.

Starfleet orders Spock to relieve Kirk and return the Enterprise. Spock and McCoy realises their fears and suspicions about Kirk, and agreed to improvise. They navigate the Enterprise into deep space to buy some time.

Dr Marcus and Spock work on a prototype transporter therapy (McCoy objects to this) to filter out Khan's blood cells in an ambitious attempt to save Kirk. Spock reasons with Kirk and convinces him that he must allow him to help him, he argues that he has never felt so good and confident of himself but says he trusts Spock. He reluctantly agrees and participates in the experiment. The transporter therapy begins and they accidentally create a sub-conscious clone.

The khan-blood-augmented Kirk becomes enraged and frustrated by the situation, he overwhelms the security guards and even Spock, and makes a last second decision to escape from the Enterprise.

    He goes into exile.

The crew learns that the clone has no conscience and cannot be revived as is. The body is hidden.

Starfleet again demands that Spock and crew must return and face full investigation.

Spock rationalises that it was the uncharacteristic behavior of their Captain that caused the situation of the Klingon's and goes into the pursuit of "Kirk", believing his capture was the key to ending the hostilities...

but the truth was Spock wanted his friend back.

Why not? It's not like Ron Tracey was the only renegade officer in TOS.

Or, they could take advantage of the reboot spin and the adversary is Captain Janice Lester. Though she's still nuts.
