Neither are his acting abilities. Short and sweet is the way to go with Stan. Then again, he could be the Clairvoyant.

Unless he's talking about super hero genitalia.

Or maybe his role in Mallrats was supposed to be smaller, and that was adlibbed off the cuff?

But seriously? Why wouldn't the Thing's dick be made out of big orange bricks?

    He fights the Hulk often.

If a normal guy can force Ben Grimm to his knees from a place kick to the groin, then he has no business going up against the hulk.

Did you ever wonder if Alicia Masters, the Thing's long term Sculptress girlfriend has a secret underground black market XXX Gallery where she sells busts of Thing thingies?

AAAASSGHH, I can't believe I'm going to respond to you Guy, but I always thought that the Thing could never actually have "relations" and that was always part of his depression.

Yeah, unfortunately Stan isn't an actor and this scene went on too long and was really unnecessary. Stunt casting at its worst.. it was fun to notice the various Stan cameos in the movies as a sort of thank you to the creator of most of the classic era Marvel heroes but let's keep it that way.

    Here it was just distracting.

He had maybe a line. I don't think it was over-long, just over-hyped. Had it been a secret, I think people would have liked the surprise more.

It's not stunt casting if Stan is in 90 percent of Marvel's media products at least once. :)

Ben had Thing twins with Alicia in Earth X, and they were adorable.

I'm not fighting you, but remember Ms Marvel The She-Thing?

She should have had comparable interlocking anatomy to what Ben had going on.

Hilariously (Peter David Script) what the Gray Hulk said when he first met the She Thing: "My god Grimm! What the hell happened to you!? You look awful!!!"

I don't quite get the complaints about Lee's acting. His delivery here wasn't that different from how he talks in real life, judging from interviews. No, it's not Hamlet, but if someone says scripted dialogue in a way that sounds like their everyday speech, I wouldn't call that bad acting.

    Being yourself is not acting.

Always playing the same character is barely acting.

I think the Stan Show is fantastic, but it is still the Stan show.

But nobody's expecting Stan Lee to show up and give a moving dramatic monologue or transform himself into Sherlock Holmes or something. We're expecting him to show up and play Stan Lee. So as long as he sounds like he's speaking sincerely, ra-ther than stil-ted-ly re-ci-ting words or some-thing, I don't consider that bad acting. At worst, it's neutral acting. Bad acting is where it's obvious that you're reciting from a script or reading a cue card and speak without affect, or with unrealistically excessive or inappropriate affect/emotion.

    Lets do a test.

Did you believe that the character Stan was playing had just ####ed those women holding him up, and was about to #### those women holding him up?

If the answer is yes, then he is a great actor, if the answer is no, then you have not been paying attention because that is Stan Lee and the only reason that there wasn't a post wrap party orgy is Stan's 7pm sharp bedtime.

I loved Stan Lee's narration on those old Spider-Man cartoons I grew up on so I think I must turn a blind eye to any failings he has. Plus, it's Stan Lee!

I was expecting Ward to grumble "why can't we get a JARVIS?!" :rommie:

A pretty good ep, right up there with "Eye Spy" and the pilot as the series' best to date.

I do think Christopher has a point there Guy, Stan Lee may not be a great actor, but he is a decent actor. Even his long monologue in Mallrats worked for me.

I'm not saying he is a bad actor, I don't think I said that, because even in Mallrats he was a "version" of himself.

That would make him, in Christopher's own terms "a neutral actor".

    LOL--no I don't remember that!

I think there is a message in there for you!

I always love the Stan cameo, but do you really think that he can hold a sustained performance?
