OH---CRAP, Olympics, that's kind of a special case.
Did they say something like "in two weeks" not "next week"?
I was kinda in the geeking moment and knowing it was Feb just automatically knew we should get a new episode every week this month.

What, March, the whole month!!! F**ing Olympics!!!

They may as well have not bothered coming back for just one episode in that case especially considering how critical it looks to be. Bad form, ABC.

That said, I thought this was a good one. A little tension perhaps on the May/Ward front, nice use of telling the story from different angles, and I certainly never expected what happened to Skye - damn. I hope Mike keeps being a part of this show too, should be interesting to see where he goes.

It might have been their only shot at a sweeps episode.

Wow. Poor Skye. But you know, she's a really resilient gal. She'll get through this. Besides, she's an O.U.O. She and Fitz have a good work dynamic, and Fitz feels more comfortable around her now. (I suspect he has or had a crush on her, but he's not acting all clumsy or flirty. )

It was a hoot to see Stan Lee. As for Mike, I'm not familiar with the Deathlok character, but he looks too much like an unfinished product to be a menacing cyborg assassin.

    Really good episode tonight.

I liked the style of story-telling on the train, which worked best when May came back and saved Ward and Coulson on the plane. Though it was also cool when Simmons woke up shooting.

Skye has gotten far more interesting over the past few weeks. Now that we know there really is something that makes her "special", I'm looking forward to finding out more about her.

Well I'm kind of assuming he actually is unfinished. I expect we'll see him continue to evolve.

    Mike's the Clairvoyant.

Deathlok in the comics is from the future.

What if Future Mike has been sending data back to the past to build an Empire, save his kid and Deathlock himself?

I already kinda, sorta liked it at the start, it just didn't grab me and I lost interest, if it's gotten better I'll give it another try.:techman:

Is the obvious reason that she's dead? One reason more to watch.

I accidentally read a spoiler that said Coulson was Simmons dad. I was kicking myself for reading it, so I was caught by surprise with what it really was.

A very good episode.. good pacing, liked the unusual storytelling mode, the interaction of the various teams was well done, a nice shocker (though i have a feeling she'll pull through) and the mystery with the Clairvoyant turns out to be interesting.

If Shield keeps this up it might actually become a show i'll start looking forward each week instead of just watching because it made it on my schedule. Bummer that the Olympics will throw a wrench into the momentum if you can call it that.. Christmas break took forever, then one episode and a full month without it. Very bad.

Nice little cameo. Would have been better to not hype it. I like how they're doing the "Marvel movie" things - first the post-credits(ish) scenes and now a Stan Lee cameo. Now all they need is shawarma. ;)

I was hoping for a larger Stan Lee presence. I mean, what happened to the passengers after the train was stopped?

Then again, he seemed to need assistance to walk to his seat, so maybe his health isn't up to sustaining more than a brief cameo.

The first Deathlok(Luthor Manning) was from an alternate future who found his way into the 616.

Michael Collins, a former Roxxon employee, was the Deathlok I really grew up with in the 90's. His series went 30+ issues. You'd think since Roxxon has been brought up on the show they might've made Peterson a Roxxon employee and gone with Collins altogether. Lost his job from Roxxon, not random warehouse factory. It would've been obvious to comic fans from the start but still kept casual fans hanging on as they are now.

Since then other people have been transformed into Deathlok in the 616 present using that baseline technology. Including at least one SHIELD agent(whose name escapes me but pretty sure it's not Peterson).

I think the current Deathlok seen in the last year in the comics is more robot than cyborg but I'm only basing that on what I've read in discussion threads on CBR. Not read those actual issues.

So it seemed like Ward was blaming May for not being with Skye. Was that because she could have gone after the train rather than stayed behind to help him and Coulson?

(I knew that the Ward/May affair would end up being about Skye somehow....)

The hell you say! Yeah, if she were gonna die, she'd be dead already. They're just going to play this out as another means of making her the center of the story...now she'll have the martyr thing going on top of everything else.

Yeah, after the way they hyped it, I expected a slightly more substantial role...maybe a couple of short scenes. This wasn't much more than some of his more substantial movie cameos.
