What's the bet that Jamie will have more lines in this episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. than she had in both Thor movies put together?

^Given that she had like four lines in two films, that's not much of a stretch.

Here's another thought; wouldn't it be great if they got Thomas Jane to appear as Frank Castle? I think he'd be perfect for the kind of street level antagonists/anti-hero this show needs. Could be a valid way for the suits to test the waters for a new *good* Punisher movie.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they've stared to include a clause in their supporting actor's contracts that obligates them to appear in a cameo role in at least one other Marvel production. At least I hope they have because I imagine someone like Ruffalo would be very expensive to get for a TV show otherwise.

Tom was so pissed off by how shitty his Punisher movie was that he made his own to prove how easy it is.

You do realize that the bloke who played Vostagg, was Frank Castle in the Punisher Warzone movie?

^I had no idea. Never watcher Warzone. Heard it was shite. And yeah, I loved 'Dirty Laundry' too which is why I linked it above. ;)

I understand why they're reticent to do it the way a Punisher movie should be done. Unfortunately 'Dredd' proved that even a low budget 18 rated comic book movie would struggle to make it's money back, so it can't exactly look like a wise investment.

It just sucks because in reality they could absolutely do it as a *very* low budget, very gritty guerilla style action film. Anyone know if Rodriguez is a Punisher fan? He'd make a *fantastic* Punisher film and has a proven track record of turning a profit on this kind of thing.

Punisher Warzone had hilarious Banshee levels of violence in it.

Frank had killed 17 guidos in the first 12 minutes before he had even said his first line.

While I'm skeptical that the contract would say movie or television (especially for actors who signed on before AoS was developed), I also doubt they'd waste an appearance on a television show rather than make it a separate contract. You're still paying for the actor to show up and if the price was for Avengers 4, it's obviously very expensive for a TV show.

That being said, I bet he'd show up if they promised to give him a Hulk movie, but that's even more risk for Marvel just for a guest appearance.

    You're thinking too big.

Clark Gregg has a BBQ with some of his movie buddies.

"It'd be a shame if Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was cancelled, if only there was something anyone could do give the ratings a quick kick in the pants. So Chris, how do you want your burger? Well done?"

I was under the impression that the list was Sto-Vo-Kory's speculation, not official. Regarding who's actually on the list, I think we can infer something from the two examples of comic super-villains that we've gotten on the show and a little common sense. Both Graviton and the Blizzard are villains who are mainly associated with their existing movie properties (The Avengers and Iron Man, respectively). So a lot of entries on the list are likely for villains associated with their movie properties that they can't see themselves actually using in their films.

By contrast, they probably want to keep their options open for using villains associated with any of the characters that they plan to develop in other TV-style series (whatever the actual release format). A TV-style series format means that the writers will need more villains to choose from. So you can bet that anyone associated with Daredevil, Luke Cage, etc., are off-limits to SHIELD unless they arrange a specific crossover.

The list is entirely my speculation and not official in any way. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. I was just responding to the post I quoted before the list.

Further speculation: Leviathan would be a nice nemesis for the SHIELD gang. Since Hydra and AIM may be reserved for the movie stuff, Leviathan could fill that role that Hydra held in the comics -- a spy organization that works at cross-purposes to SHIELD. Centipede sort of functions this way on the show currently but that name is terrible.

Keep in mind that Graviton was not on the list. My guess is Blizzard was not either. So it's hard to get a sense of the list based on that. That being said, they said they're now working more closely with the people at Marvel to decide which characters they can use. Maybe the list was essentially empty when they started the show and it's gotten better.

But even if we go with your theory, would somebody like MODOK be on a list or would he be saved for a movie?

That's their call, not mine. ;) Do they have plans for him, or think they might get around to using him a few Cap films from now?

Well, as I said, we have a couple of weeks with nothing to do but speculate so I thought we should speculate. Suppose Captain America will have three movies. Should the villain for the third be MODOK? The thing is, AIM is the closest thing to the nemesis for SHIELD as a whole, which is why I brought it up.

It's interesting, the strategy that Hulu/ABC.com seems to be using in choosing what episodes they make available. Instead of simply making the last five eps available, the eps seem to be chosen by their relevancy to the current plot.

When it was revealed that Centipede was behind Akela Amadore's eye implant, suddenly "Eye-Spy" became available again. During the break, "Girl in the Flower Dress" became available again, and now that we've seen that Ian Quinn is going to play a much larger role in things, suddenly "The Asset" is available again.

Currently available are "Seeds" (Most recent), "The Magical Place" (Next most recent, but a very important ep. Part one of the story, "The Bridge", is not available), "The Well" (Asgardian connected with the Sif appearance coming), "Eye-Spy" and "The Asset".

"Repairs", a very-low rated episode without any connections to any larger story, barely lasted a few weeks.

My reaction to this news was basically: "He's playing Deathlok? Wow. Deathlok. Really. Who the hell is Deathlok?"

I looked him up, and apparently I'm not familiar with him because his only prior screen appearance was in the Black Panther animated series that I haven't seen. I may have come across him in the odd comic here and there, but he didn't leave an impression. So... he's basically a zombie cyborg?

Apparently there's more than one version of the character in the past so it doesn't bother me that this one has a different name and backstory. Plus, it allows for the surprise that it's going to happen (unless someone posts it without any spoiler tags :p). Otherwise, we would just look up the character and know who it is. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't plan this from the beginning.

I suspect the Mike Peterson version on TV will take his style cues from the third version, created by Dwayne McDuffie, Gregory Wright and Butch Guice. That would be nice, especially if they get the inspirational credit. Mike seems like spiritual kin to Mike Collins already...

As for taking the version of Leviathan created by Dan Chichester and Keith Pollard in the 1990's and putting him into the Cinema'Verse? Interesting idea. That kind of "mercenary in cult-leader's cloak" could be fun to watch.
