No matter where you go, there you are.
Also nice to see Archer break the one-vote barrier.

I spoke too soon about Picard and is Archer really keeping up with NuKirk?

    Edit: Archer surpassed NuKirk.

His ship with those pink chairs was just begging to be blown up. ;)

^We never really got to see him lead as captain, only follow Kirk. We saw him as an ambassador but that was post captain days.

In ST2, the only command decision we see him make is he has no ego and willingly turns over command to Kirk. In ST6, he's in charge of the Enterprise for half the movie. While a being of logic he has no compulsion with bending the rules to get the job done and knows what makes his people tick.

I guess I should have put him in there anyway. Maybe I'll make an addendum poll with Captain Spock, Captain Riker, and Captain Chekote. Maybe.

Chekote was an Admiral who appeared in a couple of TNG/DS9 eps. Maybe a least favorite Admiral thread given how many corrupt Admirals Starfleet has? ;)

I understand his positive aspects but I didn't think Jellico would surpass Janeway in votes.

I never thought of Admiral Chekote as corrupt. He asked Sisko to abandon the station during the Bajoran insurrection, but he was correct in his interpretation of Federation law.

That's because he'd blame the Vulcans if there weren't any flavors he liked.

That's a bit ridiculous though. His resume stacks up with just about anybody's except for the fact that he was on his own most of the time blazing a trail for those that would come after him. He has all the qualities of a leader. He never asked his crew to do something he wouldn't do and put his own life on the line more times than I can count. Did he fuck up sometimes? Sure, but that is to be expected with the first ever Starfleet warp 5 ship. He also came through big time on some pretty dicey missions, the Xindi one comes to mind. He is also pretty instrumental in forming the Federation as we know it. The guy would be an absolute rock star if we were living in universe during his tenure on the Enterprise.

I didn't think Janeway would trail so far behind.

Nu Pike, Picard, Sisko, especially Martok.

Though, TBH, the fictional commander I'd most follow as a military leader is probably Bill Adama from Nu BSG...

She has her loyalists, but in terms of being a sensible commander or respectable military leader... She's barking.

There is a school of thought that Starfleet deliberately dumped Voyager on the opposite side of the galaxy as a sort of Phule's Company...

^She does like to bark out orders (regardless if others caution against her at times), but I voted for her because she didn't loose that many people, especially under the circumstance she was in.

I mean barking as in barking mad, and generally contrary and irrational.

^That, I can't argue with but honestly, that mission would make anyone crazy.
