Naw. Rick isn't stupid enough to bury a gun they might need. The implication there was that when he chose to become Farmer Rick, he forced the change on his son as well.

Yeah, that and he gave Carl his gun back, it was in the toolbox. That one he dug up had been there longer, maybe part of the initial outbreak...

Yea. I don't believe there was any kind of plan to deliberately bury that gun in the ground. Rick was tilling the ground to plant crops and happened to find it while remoing rocks and other things to make the soil ready to plant.

It was probably just something dropped and then gradually covered up. Possibly a guard or someone in the prison trying to escape got killed there and that's where it ended up, or possibly someone from the assault on the prison although I'm not sure of the exact location of different assaults.

Rick wouldn't potentially ruin a weapon by burying it in the ground...Which is why his gun and Carl's gun where in a toolbox.

Rats. At the beginning of the episode, someone feeds a rat to a walker through the prison’s outer fence.

Who is doing that, and why are they trying to bait more walkers to the prison?

Also, does the site of rats indicate this isn't a 'walker flu' but an old fashioned plague?

Yea. Either someone in the group has a death wish or potentially that is the governor who has access to the prison?

I didn't get Michoone's reaction to Judith - first almost afraid of the child and then overwhelmed with emotion. Perhaps she lost a child of her own after the outbreak and we can expect a flashback?

Also, Michonne breaking her ankle is a setup for some sort of relationship with another member of the group. IIRC the comics had Rick and Michonne in a full on relationship - perhaps they are going to have her now follow that plotline?

I didn't catch the name of the other Dr and he had a very small part in diagnosing Patrick. Wonder if he'll have a greater role in treating the flu like illness.

Karen's demise caught be by suprirse and it's more heardache for Tyreese.

After The Talking Dead I think I have a little crush on Hayley Williams...

Pretty good episode, cleaned house a little bit in its inimitable fashion. Given how I felt about her at the beginning I can't believe Carol has become someone I'm really interested about, they've really done well with that character.

As old as Herschel is they ought to lock his door every night. Do new prisons even have key locks? If so, everyone should get a key and lock themselves in every night.

Yeah yeah, really strong episode and everything, but what I want to know is when the hell did Hershel grow his freakin leg back?? Did that not jump out at anybody else? He goes from walking on crutches with half his leg gone to strolling around on two legs like nothing ever happened.

If we're meant to believe he found an artificial leg somewhere, he sure wasn't walking like it.

Got a fake leg along the way. Forget whether they mentioned or showed it, but that's the deal. maybe it came up on Talking Dead?

And the Michonne/baby thing? Seemed pretty obvious that's where they were going when Beth was questioning what they call someone who has lost a child, no word for it. Then her reaction to holding the baby... Either lost a child during the outbreak, or (my guess) a few years before things went down...

Last week when Hershel was showing Rick how to re-plant parts of plants we clearly see his artificial leg. Later in the episode we see the prosthetic remove sitting by him as he nurses his stump. But yeah, his leg grew back go with that idea.

I'm guessing that the new guy Bob Stookey is a Governor plant sent to sabotage the prison.

Last week they showed part of Herchel's artificial leg. He was kneeling down and you could see the metal rod with the fake foot attached.

I think it was the little girl feeding Nick the zombie.

Yeah, I'm leaning that way myself. They showed a kid naming them last week, the drawing this week, even commented about the girl mourning her dad over the zombie and her unwillingness to kill a zombie on the fence.

Originally I thought it was a Governor plant, but that kind of plan is obscenely risky unless the person is trying to get killed. Also, not all kids are Carl and some may process what's going on so much differently. Maybe the girl thinks being nice to them means they'll be nice or some other crazy kid shit.

Whoever is feeding them was adult height.

Also depraved and steady enough to let them bite off the heads and then leave the bodies at the base of the fence to egg them on.

    Not a child.

I just rewatched the scene. there is no indication of the actual height of the person, nor do we see even the hands. As for biting off the heads and leaving the bodies, we're not talking about a mentally healthy child here.

While I agree with the need to teach the kids how to use weapons, Carol pushing the one girl to stab her father in the head seemed awfully over the top. Even as bleak and hopeless as their lives have become, I can't see anyone-- particularly the caring and thoughtful Carol-- thinking that was even remotely appropriate.
