All I can say is keep watching, and you may see what I see.
I very much wanted to see Christopher Eccleston play one.
Christopher George would have been a fine choice, a damned good looking man. In fact it wouldn't be that hard to have seen him cast as James Kirk.
Lloyd Bridges was mentioned already, but since he was the original Commander Cain from the original BSG, I think he would have made a good TOS captain. Kinda surprised he was never on TOS as a guest star, actually. I think he was offered the role of Kirk.
