Starfleet doesn't build warships. Yes you could be right. It could be a new class of starship built during their time period. But looking at Kirk And Spock and everyone else on the bridge of the Enterprise faces, doesn't means it's not.Couldn't it just be some kind of prototype warship that he has stolen? I don't see them using the time travel thing here either...
I loved Kirk's 'I'm sorry' remark. Not the most inspiring comment your CO could make.![]()
I dunno, destabilizing Starfleet when the Klingons are in an expansionist phase (at least going by Countdown into Darkness) would probably encourage the Klingons to attack.Maybe John Harrison is trying to start a war with the klingons? Pitching starfleet against the klingon empire for some reason.
Maybe he's trying to prevent war with the Klingons by killing all the corrupt Starfleet higher-ups who were gunning for war.![]()
Starfleet does build warships... Constitution Class could act like one when needed. It was not strictly a science vessel, one of their missions was to protect federation planets. The Enterprise could lay waste to a planet if it had to. (General Order 24)
I don't think anyone said that they thought the trailer was great on the merit that Harrison's ship is bigger... just that it's regarded as a well put together trailer.I ... dunno. What is it about this trailer that has everyone feeling it's so epic? The scary ship that's bigger than the hero ship?
We got that in Star Trek: Nemesis, and we saw where that went.
Yeh, I was using the wormhole example. But there other ways that they could go back in time. That ship is to powerful to be from Kirk time period and any new ships should be base of the Enterprise design. And there's the debris floating around the orbit of the moon. They have to be wreckage from others starships that was destroyed by Harrison ship before the Enterprise had arrive.
I would completely agree with you, but I don't think that they will be pulling the black-hole-time-travel stunt again for this movie. But it would make sense!
Starfleet didn't know about the Narada, starfleet haven't had time to built that ship in that short of time space. If it was built because of the reports from the Kelvin survivors? Then Why didn't they built the Enterprise and other starships like Harrison ship?Especially after their last fleet was decimated by a single ship, that had to leave the Federation extermely vulnerable to an attack from the Klingons or Romulans. Desperate officers at the top could lead to well warships and worse.
This is my thought as well... After getting pasted by the Narada, Starfleet knows there are bigger boys on the block and so they start developing bigger toys to play with them...
Much like the Defiant (tough little ship) was designed with the Borg in mind... The difference between the two being that to battle the Borg, Starfleet needed speed, manuverability and fire power... To face off against something like the Narada, they need size, armor AND fire power...
Star Trek literature is non-canon.I'm sure the story for this movie will be completely self-contained and non-reliant on pre-release literature.
You know, on an even finer point - love the sound FX at 1:14. Who knew dropping out of warp could sound so sinister?![]()
I don't think something like "Section 31" is likely to be referenced in the movie.Just to get my two cents in. I'm now thinking that the new starship is from Section 31
