new star trek trailer

Speculation could be is that if, debris of either the Jellyfish, or the Narada left from the battle last movie were to contain things about the 24th century, then i think it makes sense that Starfleet could have retrieved some data on future ships and tried to emulate them.

would be a stretch given that the Enterprise took a few years to build and this film is set about a year after the first

Well if Emperor Saltine can build another moon-sized deathball in a mere couple of years, I'm sure Starfleet can handle your garden variety jumbo battlewagon.

I think this movie should be called "I believe in you Jim".

Star Trek I Believe In You Jim.

No colons or commas. :D

I'm continually amazed at how big this movie is. After years of extremely small-scale Trek, it's gobsmacking to see it set loose with big-budget scope.

We always knew that the Star Trek universe is more than capable of delivering such epic scale if it ever got enough money, well now we have got it ! :techman:

Trailer was just epic. Superb.

Now Paramount need to make sure everyone in the world who is on the fence sees this trailer. They MUST ensure this trailer is attached to every Iron Man 3 print because when people see Iron Man they will surely have to come back to the cinema to watch this!

That ship is to powerful to be from Kirk time period and any new ships should be base of the Enterprise design. And there's the debris floating around the orbit of the moon. They have to be wreckage from others starships that was destroyed by Harrison ship before the Enterprise had arrive.

I would completely agree with you, but I don't think that they will be pulling the black-hole-time-travel stunt again for this movie. But it would make sense!

This is a new universe not only a reboot but an complete different universe so why can 't it be from their time. The Federation is not supposed to be build warships but in other trailers "Harrison" has hinted about a dark past of the top officials in Starfleet. So a rogue sector of starfleet (section 31 esq) building a giant warship that is maybe not just Fed tech? though for whatever purpose we don't know yet...Also is it me or does that giant monster ship look unfinished in sections?

I hope the ENT survives this :(

Maybe some people in Starfleet or the Federation Government decided to 'fund' experiments that Admiral Marcus is running after he insists that Starfleet must get its act together to defend against threats such as the Narada and the Klingons. John Harrison and the Dreadnought are the result? John Harrison is clearly mega pissed off at something Marcus has done and the Federation Government are probably not even aware of it... Maybe Marcus is trying to engineer a coup or create a 'threat' that allows him to take over? Who knows! Tune in May 9th/May 17th etc to find out!

The USS Star Empire?

True, but on screen evidence has the Galaxy class as an equal match to the Cardassian Galor, Romulan D'deridex, and various Klingon capital vessels, all actual warships. While Starfleet's flagships may not have been built as warships from the ground up they serve the same purpose when conflict arises.

Back on topic, Prime universe Starfleet built warships in the Defiant and Sovereign classes and there is no reason to believe Abrams-verse Starfleet can't or won't do the same.

Especially after their last fleet was decimated by a single ship, that had to leave the Federation extermely vulnerable to an attack from the Klingons or Romulans. Desperate officers at the top could lead to well warships and worse.

this assumption about Admiral Marcus is one of the villains remind me Star Trek VI, the conspiracy between Romulans, Klingons and Federation officials.

And I have a feeling that Harrison will be exposing the existance of the Dreadnought ... symbol of a secret military buildup within Starfleet. Which reminds me of Thomas Riker exposing the Obsidian Order building secret warships in the Orias System, whithout the knowledge of Central Command.

Well I think Harrison decides the best way to tell Starfleet Command about this ships existence is to crash it into Starfleet Commands front door

Sweet muscular Jesus. I had to watch this three times. Chills. I didn't even care anymore if Bendersnatch is Khan or not. If it were possible to get an erection from a non-porn movie preview, this would have the power to do it.

Huge stakes involved in Kirk's growth. This is gonna be sweet and I have no doubt it will blow the first nuTrek movie away.

Your entire post is great.:techman:
