Thanks. I figured that was the case but just wanted to be sure. :)

There was a Q/Borg VHS game in the works, but it was canceled after filming started. More info here: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_The_Next_Generation_-_Borg_Q-Uest

I really hope to see this long-lost footage!

But if it ships at $55 and the price goes down again (not likely) while your copy is in transit, you're hosed. :) Amazon has a pre-order price guarantee, but that ends once the item is prepped for shipping. It's not like a retailer like Best Buy which will give you a refund if the price goes down within 30 days of purchase.

If it's like season 1 and 2, the price will drop from 90 to 60-ish on the Sunday before release.

For season 2, I didn't pre-order on Amazon until the price actually dropped, and as a result, it didn't ship until release day. I ended up buying it at Best Buy on release day and returning the Amazon copy, which arrived Thursday.

Even if the price does go down, I would much rather pay at 55 than 90. It wouldn't go down very much after that, considering that was the price of Season 1.

That would be pretty cool to see. I'd also love to see them take the original Star Trek: Borg PC game footage and cut it together as an actual episode or short movie. The audio novel is a fun story and it'd be great to have the actual video on DVD or Bluray.

While it's not official, there have been several fan-edits of the game as a movie made available online. I heard there was also a Star Trek: Klingon game, similar to Borg, which might be interesting. I've never played the game though.

Yeah I've seen those about, and they're cool, but the resolution isn't great. I'd love to see the remastered team tackle it and give us a definitive, better quality version. :)

The Klingon one would be nice too.

So it looks like we get a Ronald D. Moore Commentary for "The Bonding," his first episode... and also Moore and Ira Steven Behr on “Yesterday’s Enterprise.” It would have been nice if they included an additional commentary with Eric Stillwell and Trent Ganino who originated the story. I wonder also if they included David Carson's commentary for YE that was on the "Alternate Realities" DVD collection?

As for the "The Best of Both Worlds" disc, we get an audio commentary with director Cliff Bole, Mike and Denise Okuda, and actress Elizabeth Dennehy.

    • Promo Trailers for all 26 episodes (SD)
    • Audio Commentary on selected episodes with participants such as Rene Echevarria, Jonathan Frakes, Ron Moore, Ira Steven Behr and David Carson
    • Archival Mission Log: Selected Crew Analysis Year Three (SD)
    • Archival Mission Log: Mission Overview Year Three (SD)
    • Archival Mission Log: Departmental Briefing Year Three: Production (SD)
    • Archival Mission: Departmental Briefing Year Three: Memorable Missions (SD)
    • Star Trek The Next Generation: Inside The Writer's Room (HD)
    • Resistance is Futile: Assimilating The Next Generation (HD)
    • A Tribute to Michael Piller (HD)
    • Bloopers: Gag Reel (HD)
The David Carson commentary is most likely from the collection.

And if I had to take a guess, Frakes and Echevarria probably comment on "The Offspring." It was the first episode directed by the former and the first episode written by the latter.

I'm really interested in what Ira Behr has to say on this set. I remember him saying in the DS9 companion that he didn't like his time on TNG or the show for that matter. To be a part of this set, and do episode commentaries, let's just say his reactions will be raw and genuine.

I'm amazed to see a blooper reel on this set. I know we've seen season one bloopers all over the Internet, but I thought once Rick Berman was firmly in charge from season three onward, blooper reels were strictly forbidden. I wonder how they got permission to include one here.

As with Season 2, they went through the archived film and found the footage. Berman isn't in control of the franchise anymore :) Stewart didn't like the blooper reels either, due to mean nature of the ones featured at the wrap parties, but he approved of the ones on the remasters

So I guess a list of possible commentaries would look something like this.

"The Enemy" - Directed by David Carson
"The Defector" - Written by Ron Moore
"Yesterdays Enterprise" - Teleplay by Ira Steven Behr & Ron Moore, Directed by David Carson
"The Offspring" - Written by René Echevarria, Directed by Jonathan Frakes
"Sins of the Father" - Teleplay by Ron Moore
"Captain's Holiday" - Written by Ira Steven Behr
"Sarek" - Uncredited page one rewrite by Ira Steven Behr & Ron Moore

Any word yet on a Phantom Events screening of BOBW/Season 3?

The set doesn't come out till the last day in April. I think it will be the week before, like it was for Season 2.

Yeah, that's what it's been like the last couple of times (I think the Thursday before.) But is there any official word that there's going to be a screening?

CBS hasn't announced it yet, but there are a bunch of theater websites listing it for April 25th.

So, no isolated music tracks again? :(

Seems that I'm the only one who wants those. *sigh*
As I don't care much for commentaries, that would have been such an awesome extra on the BOBW movie BD in addition to the exclusive commentary.
