Eureka: Final Season (Discussion, spoilers, etc.)

I'm sure that Zane only deduced that it was Holly because she was the only one in there that didn't make their way out.... They weren't sure if it was Holly, or even "All" of the person that may or may not have been Holly.

Which is why I felt comfortable putting my outrageous on the table.

this is old.

The 13-episode fifth season that was ordered last year, which includes a holiday special, is going to be the final season of Eureka.

So plus one.

Which brings us to 14.

IMDB has episode names for all 14 episodes.

Although the link suggests the original 13 included the Christmas special which the imdb list and perhaps the wikipedia list indicate do not.

As great as it was to see Holly again, I really wish there was some way they could have gotten around including Felicia Day's name in the opening credits. I know there are SAG rules or something like that, but it would have been nice for there to have been some question in my mind as to whether or not Fargo was actually going to find Holly in the matrix.

I'm glad Allison came clean. That was so out of character for her anyway.

It was also nice to see Zane helping Fargo.

Some nice moments in this episode.

I wonder where they're going with this Holly thing. Looks from the previews like it's not over.

Hm. Yeah, "13 including..." says ONLY 13 to me. We'll see.

Well, there was a 13-episode fifth season, to be followed by a 6th season, which they retroactively cancelled after approving. Then they added one episode to give the producers the opportunity to add some closure. So that makes a total of 14.

I don't know. I'm pretty sure Beverly put Wen in her "Matrix", after Eureka already had the one they had been in. So unless she could access it remotely with out any of the big E residents noticing, which I find hard to believe, then it would have to be a different one.

Jack was plugged in remotely.

And lets face it the original matrix was destroyed.

Which is why it took Zane so long to put it all together again.

But it also means that Beverly would have had an Indian burial ground blank slate free and clear to build her nuMatrix on.

it could have even been a life boat that was ejected from the original matrix if not a central fixed safe point that was more protected than the rest of the matrix which was annihilated.

While I could be wrong, Eureka is usually a bit more obvious about these things. If it was Wen, I think we would have had at least a hint at the end of the episode (if not a full reveal, as with the season opener).

Coincidentally, I watched an old 2 1/2 Men episode tonight featuring the same actress who played Wen (which oddly enough is her real name). She played a judge who was dating Charlie, and said she was aspiring to be a senator one day.

Nice to know she made it!

They missed a good one. Eureka is known to have the families of famous scientists, right? There have been references to Einstein's family and so on. So this season should have featured descendants of James Watt and Elias Howe. If they met up with Senator Wen, you'd have Watt, Wen, and Howe.

The actress is 'Ming Na' that most of us know from Stargate: Universe.

Imdb says that her birth name is Ming-Na Wen.

Ming-Na is just what she calls herself on the job.

Ming-Na in English means "Enlightenment."

Because that's her name.

it's a funny thing about Asians, rather than listen to us roundeyes mutilate their names, or probably in Ming-na's case, say her name in the wrong bloody order, they humour the rest of the world by taking it easy and substituting names we can pronounce like "John", 'Eric", "Sally" and "Sarah".

The kid who played Bashir changed his name in the opening credits half way through his run on DS9 just to avoid the endless masses of fat fucks at conventions who tried and failed to pronounce close to his name with even a huge margin of error, or the sensitive pricks who first asked for the correct pronounciation instead of saying "Hello, here's 30 dollars for your signiture I plan to sell on ebay."

There is never going to be a President Ashton.
