As the board's resident sperglord regarding Ghostbusters, I feel compelled to point out that the line from the film is "Back off, man. I'm a scientist."
THAT'S IT! Fifth season opening of B5! How could I've forgotten that? It even explains the voice I hear it in in my inner workings
I love some of the Wayne's World catchphrases. "We're not worthy! We're not worthy!" "She will be mine. Oh yes, she will be mine." "She's a robo-babe. She's magically babealicious." And, of course: "Schwing!" I often find myself saying, with a nasal Valley Girl inflection, "What-everrrr . . ." And my own personal catchphrase, spoken in the "dumb guy" voice David Letterman used to do: "Course, now they do all that stuff with computers." I've never heard that one. What's it from?
Once in a Bill Engvall standup routine he was talking about how his daughter called him while he was on the road and she asked him to buy a CD for her, she said "Pick up some Barenaked Ladies". After about a twenty-second pause Bill goes "All....righty." Now that's what I always say when I see something unexpected... Also, if something good happens to me, I'll say "Ripping". I got it from a Python sketch (about a minute in): [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvyDTzPQW-U[/yt] But my actual favorite catch phrase of all time? Must be "Nice pants."
A simple drag 'n' drop into google gave this first result: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3hn6fFTxeo[/yt]
I use these all of the time: "You've given me double diabetes. Thank you." "I seem to have misplaced my pants." "Well, there go the piano lessons." "Fudge barnacles!" "Sweet Zombie Jesus!"
"I see what you did there." I use that one quite a bit, especially on the Twitter. (I sometimes add a superfluous "the" to a brand name, too. )
Or the 0:37 mark in this if you want to know where they probably stole it from: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbhrz1-4hN4[/yt] As for me, I use "Fair enough" a lot as a response to things. I've also recently started using "Cool. Cool cool cool." on occasion, as well. No idea why...
"D'oh!" "Don't call me Shirley" any time someone says Surely in a sentence. Also, the whole "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking/drinking/amphetamines/sniffing glue." "What. What. What?", "I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry." or "Allons-y!" Sadly, most people in my off-line life are not Doctor Who fans and look at me like I'm weird. Wait, they do that anyway. "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." "I knew it! I'm surrounded by Assholes!"
I've been known to mutter "frak" in the real world without realizing it... I also like "Lighten up, Francis," but that's almost 100% limited to teh internets, where it is often very pertinent.
