It's a freakishly strange thing to say around here (as it is in a foreign tongue), but I have been known to utter the phrase: And so it begins... every now and again.

I have no idea where I might have picked it up though, could be from an old 'sandal-movie' or from a more recent teenager-movie (I'm sure it must've been some sort of film (or TV-show)).

As a phrase it has the ability to defuse a tense situation and make people start laughing instead of start fighting -which is what I like about it [IMG]

I used to do a lot of my swearing in foreign tongues; loved rolling the r in 'merde' and use German to really put someone in their place.
These days English words cannot be used as the people native to that family of languages seem to have a sort of double standard about their swear words and don't like seeing them in print (~on monitor) -so I switched to the more geeky (which is what I love about them) words like Frak and Gorram -which no one around here seem to recognize

"If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck... it probably is a duck."

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

And I tend to use "Indeed." quite a lot.

There are many more that I use on a regular basis in Italian.
